How would I go about getting a unique mipsurp rifle appraised?

I can already see the top hand guard is missing, and it looks like the stock has been recontoured if not completely swapped for a Sporterized one.

It's less than $300, and that's if it's a NICE sporter job.

You really can't, at least not officially. You can ask the experts at the k98 or gunboard forums though, and look at previous examples that sold at auction. But that's still unofficial and only going to give you a rough estimate.

The reason I'm asking is because a few unscrupulous companies produced lots of "fake" banner Mausers. The lack of markings on the receiver makes me think you might have one of those. There's usually a date (1934) stamped under the Mauser symbol.

Serial number starts with B58? Your's was a "rebuild" meaning they captured them, disassembled them, put all the parts into piles, and reassembled them. Yours was reassembled by Israel I believe. I'm not an expert though, just some jerk on the Internet so don't take my word for it. I don't think it's terribly valuable. 600 bucks maybe?

And yep that article is exactly what I have minus the handguard crack and the sling. My barrel, bolt and stock are in great condition. Don't you just love fudds?
