Because mirrors aren't 100% efficient, some percent of light will always leak through. Since the reflective interface (the glass and silver or aluminum-vapor film) is very thin and fragile, it doesn't take much energy to wreck, and once it goes, the efficiency for the whole mirror crashes. So mirrors are worthless for armor, even in space where there is no dust.

What you want for anti-laser armor is something with a high heat capacity to resist melting and some shock-proofing to resist pulsed drilling, preferably with multiple layers to stop heat leaking around as well.

Carbon is top-tier, a carbon/ceramic composite with layers of mylar to slow heat leakage between modules would be good. For cheap armor, water is also excellent.

Unlike mirrors, water self-heals, so increasing the reflectivity is actually useful. To do this, dump a high-albedo dye like titanium dioxide in your armor pond. A pool just 1' deep on the top of any fortress will protect it from MW-class lasers for minutes to hours.

Cork works pretty well too. Retains most of its shape after burning and becomes a carbon foam. It has been used as a heat shield for some space junk, kinda successfully.
