I will always think Halo: Reach was the best Halo game in the series. Mostly because of the armor design and the overall style that the game had. Multiplayer was fun and I spent countless hours in forge mode building bases and roleplaying as some special ops with a group of friends against each other.
I feel like Halo 4 was wasted potential. The style of the game didn't look like Halo and was leaning on plastic-like and colorful instead. Especially since Multiplayer was all a training-simulation thing. They did well with Forge and actually made it a lot better, and I spent hours in it making bases too. Though the lack of a proper Forge World like in Halo; Reach besides the Forge Island map, which was boring as it was literally just that - three islands was disappointing. Combine that with most other maps obviously being focused on Multiplayer and Forge as an afterthought, meant that the maps already had their design in mind and didn't look towards the elements of Forge to create maps for them. That is also true for Halo: Reach as well, but remember that Forge world also had tons of variants on Multiplayer. Despite how well Forge was changed, with new tools and a small bit of actual scripting too, it felt more of an afterthought. The campaign was pretty boring compared to the rest of the series which again felt like Multiplayer was a strong focus instead.
I haven't played Halo 5 but it honestly just looks like an extension of Halo 4 to me.

Going from what we've seen so far, the story will actually exist. By the end of the first mission in the beta, they establish a solid conflict (losing your light) and a villain (Dominus Ghaul). Plus they're actually putting the grimoire in the game.

I'm worried about some gameplay changes, like the kinetic-energy-power weapon slot change, the effectiveness of supers, PvP still relying on skill-based matchmaking, and agility still being a useless stat.

Considering the rough first year of D1, I don't blame people who have been driven away from the franchise entirely. I stuck around because of the potential I felt Destiny had.

Well in Fall of Reach it's stated that the drugs and augmentations drastically reduce their sex drive. Watching these AI battles makes me realize how smart the AI was for the first three games, as long as they didn't get their hands on a steering wheel.

Halo 4 and 5's AI battles consist of the AI standing adjacent from each other and shooting until the other one dies.

In 1 2 and 3 you got actual dodging, in 2 and 3 they take cover and form up as squads, they actually wreak havoc on the enemy AI too.

Overhaul of Combat Evolved, adds every enemy and weapon from the first four games and includes lore into gameplay, such as expanded level sections re-enacting parts from the books and the Grunts and Jackals becoming carrier forms when infected.

I got the original release which was only the first 5 levels, gonna try and download the full overhaul sometime.
