How viable, really, is living in a /k/ompound or some such thing? The idea of having a barbed wire fence, underground structure, store of supplies, armory, etc, basically my own little FOB, is extremely attractive. Setting up one in a decommissioned communications bunker or Atlas E site seems like it'd be possible. I remember there was a real /k/ /k/ompound being talked about nearly daily for a long time. Did that ever get off the ground?
It is viable, so long as you have money.

pointless when you cant be self sufficient, so you're just hardcore extreme larping.

A boy can dream.

At least someone gets it.
I've seen such places for sale at <$300k, which is about as much as a regular ol' house where I live. Additionally, I just really like it. I thought it was cool when I was in the military and I think it's cool now. How could that idea not make someone from this board excited?

It'd probably be better to have it be aboveground and use prefab shit and just establish a perimeter, huh? Rather than retrofit or move into an expansive NUCYULER BUNKUR, I mean. Mostly I want to live far enough out for people to generally leave me the fuck alone, to where someone driving up would be reasonably suspicious if unexpected, to set up a perimeter, and become somewhat self-sufficient. The attractiveness of those <$300k old communications bunkers is difficult to resist, however.

Simple enough. Just set up an acreage out as far as you like, with a secured house (maybe an underground "panic room", if you want), various small hangers for use as a workshop, garage, etc, long line of sight in any direction, and appropriately set up driveway (deep, wide ditches on either side, moat/trenches to prevent people just ignoring the driveway, perhaps something like an inner concrete wall with drawbridge).
I'd like to do the same someday, plus incorporate an airstrip and shooting range.

It could be very easy. All it takes is money.
1. Buy some land in the middle of nowhere.
2. Dig a deep hole.
3. Build a house inside that hole.
4. Install ventilation and flood control system.
5. Stock pile canned food, bottled water, and munitions.
6. Tell nobody about the place. Secrecy is your best defense.

Thanks a ton, fellas. I don't suppose there's an SOP or some other compilation of knowledge on the matter that you'd recommend, is there?
