What do you use to clean your guns? I bought a Hoppe's 9 cleaning kit but I feel like there's a more cost efficient way out there than just buying the kit when it's time to re-stock.

I treat my guns, like I treat my wife. Slap it around a few times and it'll start to clean itself.

You can buy the solvent, oil, and patches separately at Walmart.

You want a thin oil for cleaning stuff. Rem Oil is the shit for that.
But you want something a little thicker so it has some sticking power on components and nooks and crannies.
Just get a nice brush set for the bore.
>all these things can be bought individually and in bulk experiment and get what you like and what works
anybody else give up on boresnakes? maybe mine are just worn out but it seems like they are worthless when roundcount between cleanings is more than 250. i have to break out the normal brushes anyways. boresnakes are fine when you only put a 50 round box though the gun but i shoot more thant that a range trip. dont think im going to buy new replacements.

I still like a boresnake for finishing cleaning. I usually just blast the barrel with foaming CLP and let it sit for a while. I run 2 patches through to see how dirty it is, and if the second one isn't soot filled, I run the boresnake through 2-3 with a drop or 2 of liquid CLP to finish it out.

A solvent, some q-tips or cotton patches, and a bore snake. Maybe some gun lube, too, occasionally.
