I feel like a full stock would get in the way swinging around corners and shit? I guess if you're in the house you could have it under your arm, but then shoulder it if you can/have time. Hm

My current HD setup is a stock PSA AR15 stashed in a cardboard box sandwhiched in between two guitar cases in my closet (which is about 5 feet from my bed). The barrel is resting on an old leather jacket which elevates the buttstock to the top of the box where it's easier to grab, the low light sights are deployed and there is a round in the chamber. All I'd need to do is reach in, pull it out and flick the safety off and I got 30 PDX1 hollow points ready to rip.

Sure it's not the best setup, but I don't like the idea of throwing it under the bed where it's easily visible to anyone who looks under there, or wrapping it up in something that I'd have to wrestle with in a potential HD scenerio. I plan on getting some night sights for it soon.
>>
>>34760966
That's pretty cool--seems like a good place to keep the gun hidden. Accessible but not completely out in the open. Do you have a light or anything on it? I haven't seen a single HD gun in this thread without a light. Makes me wonder why, as it seems like fumbling through a dark house with a loaded weapon isn't the best idea, but maybe I'm missing something.

Not yet, but I definitely will get one ASAP. In my current housing situation I doubt I'd need it, but I'm definitely going to throw one on there just to have it.

OP have you looked at PCC or subgun style options?
>>
I have a boxes full of nendoroid parts.
>>
>>34761156
I have not. I'm in California and haven't really looked into subguns. I was raised with shotguns and long guns and it's kind of all I know at this point. I like the single action weapons (pump shotgun, revolver) as if there's a malfunction you just work the action again and pull the trigger.

I could be convinced to go a different route though... I just don't feel like I'd need more than two or three rounds to handle an intruder, and my mossy holds 8 + 1.
>>
>>34761212
I would fund the design and distribution around shotgun loads of nendoroid accessories

Uh, dude You'd want a stock on that sucker...should have gotten a 590A1 18.5"
>>
>>34761468
I actually have a number of different stocks for it. I've shot it plenty without a stock, a few rounds won't snap your arm off. Was thinking for HD it'd be a little more wieldly without it.

Just seems like a stock on a weapon you're gonna be firing once, maybe twice, at close range, would just kind of get in the way.
>>
>>34761499
With the Magpul SGA without the spacers, you can get it really close to you.
>>
>>34761542
I don't have the SGA... maybe I'll pick one up. Thanks for the tip

Lookin good... is the tilt switch for the pistol light awkward to use on a long gun? I was thinking about putting something similar on the front of the forend of my 590.

Thanks for the input d00ds. Convinced me to put a full traditional stock back on, and all I need now is to mount a flashlight. Cheers
>>
>>34760863
Think about it like this: unles you've got some LARPing tactical pistol stance, your arm and pistol are going to stick out about the same distance as a long arm.

It's a lot more awkward since I put on the new rail. This was rocking plain MOE grips handguards before, the AFG helps though.

I really just like the tilt switch because it has a strobe mode, if I swapped the endcap for one that takes a pressure switch I'd lose that function.

>>
>>34760863
>>34761499
You'd think so, but it's pretty easy to move around most places with the stock in your shoulder. Step back a little, lower the business end in really toght spots. More importantly, it's a lot easier and faster to acquire a target accurately with a stock.
>>
>>34762365
Note to self: bring a lot of backup when breaking into your house, specifically.

>>34762157
Interesting... yeah I was thinking of getting a similar light but mounting it on the front end of the underside of the forend. I'll try it out. Thanks for the reply.
