Not entirely inaccurate, though. Armor wasn't standardized and pieces could be passed down from generation to generation. A kight might not have had the money for a proper helm or perhaps the original helm was lost in combat. Perhaps the knight was old fashioned and didn't want a new fangled visor and wanted something his father or grand father wore.
What type of armor / melee weapon from world history pre-1800 would be ideal for 1 v 1 combat? I don't know shit about Old World warfare.
The conquistadors had plate armor and steel pikes, didn't they? They fared well against the natives.
