Reliability can very a lot depending on circumstances. I would strongly recommend firing your gun under a variety of reasonable circumstances that you may encounter if you're going to carry it.

Otherwise you may never know that your typically reliable gun suddenly becomes very unreliable if you treat it wrong. Different ammo types, lube types/amounts, and letting them get reasonably dirty between cleanings are good places to start.

You don't need to get all MAC about things but it's good to know that your gun has a critical allergy to lint or needs to be kept wet at all times.

I still carry my P11 sometimes but you can bet your ass i check that it's lubed every time i strap it on.
