Also Dan Wesson revolvers ain't all that. They are good quality, but because they were never produced in large quantities and are somewhat rare people seem to think they were some uber quality gun like a Manhurin/Python/Korth. They're not. I owned a DW pistol pack for over a decade. It's a quality piece but nothing above and beyond a S&W from the same era.

SR has some serious aestethics issue, loaded chamber indicator, massive billboards, etc. 9E is a bit more rugged looking and isn't covered in terrible safety warning bullshit. Not him, but basically every gun maker and their grandma and dog were making a pistol to submit for military trials...it's basically a lottery due to back door dealing politics but sometimes guns are chosen on their merits, some gun makers are more serious than others...watch Forgotten Weapons, tgey have plenty of videos on piatols that are made simpily to submit to US or British trials. Some make token offerings, sone really put their heart and soul into it.

Ruger made the American just to give tge M&P some domestic competition because some cigar chomping general or senator might promote the M&P simpily because it's made in the USA even if better pistols exist.
