Are the Canadian Forces underfunded? Only 1% of the GDP is being spent on the military.
>>
>>34736047
It's not like anyone's going to invade them anytime soon. If they don't make their military too large it can be as well equipped as any other, and they don't need a big one when it's exclusively for sending to 3rd world shit holes.
>>
>>34736070
This
No one s going to dare to attack America's hat
>>
They aren't underfunded. They are however, relative to the size of the land mass they are tasked with holding, undersized.
>>
>>34736047
Of fucking course they are underfunded. I'm amazed at what CF soldiers accomplish given how little money they get
>>
>>34736146
They are pretty nutty
The Army is the gov'ts golden boy though, rcaf gets no love and the navy is like that girl who wants fancy shit every few years
>>
>>34736146
It's no wonder we have the best snipers in the world, each is only given one bullet.
>>
>>34736177
I was under the impression we didn't even have our own naval supply vessels; so we rely on renting other countries' ships.
>>
Who the fuck is going to invade canada? Canada is the ultimate cuck nation, they just do whatever the US does. If anything they should be spending less.
>>
>>34736397
Lmao. Canada doesn't just blow up mudslimes, we actually do humanitarian missions and train foreign armies that the US isn't atm. Just because our Prime minister wants his wife to be hog tied and fucked by a BBC doesn't mean the rest of the country wants that BUDDY.
>>
>>34736397

As the Arctic defrosts and everyone goes snuffling around for the last dregs of oil we have left, Canada's suddenly found itself straddling a lot of interesting borders.

>>
>>34736047
You fucking twats are so lucky. We are the biggest deterrent to armed conflict and you're surrounded by oceans with only one border nation that has no interest in taking you over.

To thank us for this wonderful global position of power, you are the cuntiest most insufferable degenerate niggers the west can produce.
>>
>>34736790
Sorry.
>>
>>34736047
Every armed force in NATO besides the US and a couple others are underfunded.

1% if pretty normal for everyone but America.

>>34736047
Canadian forces are entirely superfluous
>>
It depends what Canada wants to do. If they want to let their armed forces atrophy, that's up to the Canadians. The issue is that if they expect to be able to keep the forces they have with that budget they are shit out of luck. They have pushed back major procurement in every branch for decades now to cut spending, so unless they increase spending to replace what's falling apart, they are going to be left with a just a bunch of infantry and a handful of planes and boats.
>>
>>34736886
>>34736984

This nearly every member of NATO gets its military payed for and maintained by US dollars.
>>
>>34736047
I wish I was in Canada. I recently started talking to a girl from there who can swallow air and pretty much fart on command. we both have fart fetishes, and I think it's love. Fuck Canada for being so far from florida.

Anyone know where you can get a C7A2 stock?

I want to make my 20 inch rifle a C7 clone and this is what I've got

https://www.tonyscustomsllc.com/product/a-2-standard-ar-15-handguard-green/

https://www.tonyscustomsllc.com/product/ar-15-a-2-pistol-grip-green/

But the stock doesn't have that pad.
>>
>>34736047
They're planning to bump up to ~1.5% by 2025. Which is better but still pretty bad. The navy has completely shit the bed due to neglect and most of the army's tanks are outdated.

I think we are severely under funded in the navy. We have so many shorelines to defend, especially up north, and we have 0 competitive subs. We couldn't keep a single foreign vessel out of out waters if we had to.

Our army is used as a huge publicity show, so they dont need much funding.

Our airforce has shit aircrafts, we should have a small fleet of current gen aircrafts, but those definately not as important as the oceanic vessels.

Like others have said, U.S. has the ground already covered for us, plus our real battle grounds lay in the arctic, so ground forces aren't as necessary as the subs/boats and sub/boat defences.
>>
So when is America going to annex Canada?
It's not like they could stop us.

This. I'm big into naval warfare and it's a shame how our navy doesn't get much cool shit, get some new subs and proper destroyers and I'll be happy with them. Air Force needs better and more planes, F-35 if they turn out to not be shit or anything else that get's the job done but we should definitely have more than what we have, considering how large and important our air space is and the russkies. Army get's the most attention from our MOD, despite being the least important in terms of our geopolitical situation(that is unless you consider blowing up muslims in 3rd world shit hole important), but I would still like to see them get some Apache's or some shit, I mean come on it's 2017 and we have not CAS helicopters.

I am proud of our military, small though it may be, and our Minister of Defense is a based sikh so I can thank Turdeau for that at least. Also, hasn't he announced that we are upping our spending to 2% or am I thinking of a different country?
>>
>>34736047
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Holy shit YES.

But as the serving members that I know tell me, it's not so much the constantly shrunk funding can being kicked down the road.. but the pants on head retarded MoD & MoPW (Public Works) that like the city of Toronto can't do a decent job to save their lives.
Cost estimates way out in left field.
Equipment purchasing botched often (somewhat the fault of politics constantly switching products every election).
Weird standards that some civilian in MoPW implements that conflicts with NATO standardization attempts (often in the electronics area, such as hiring Huawei to redo the government electronic infrastructure.. Huawei, a Chinese company that works hand in hand with Chinese intelligence services).

That sub-1% GDP military budget can be immensely better spent on the military.
>>
>>34736384
We used to.

But just like with our Air Defence Destroyers, no replacement was built/ready for their retirement.
The SCS project is supposed to fix that, and two new supply ships are under construction (one is nearly done).

It's not the Cold War anymore and under Trump Canada and the US have different priorities. Canada wants to advance globalism, fight global warming, and defend refugees. US wants to enforce security interests and roll back progressive agendas worldwide.

Nearly everything Trump says and does gets an immediate rebuke from Trudeau like clockwork. Ban muslim migrants? Canada will take in more. Spend less on global warming?
Canada will spend more. Ban trannys from military? Canada will recruit more trannys for its military. The two are not really allies atm even though all the security cooperation still exists and militarily the two are intertwined. This fact could be used to justify increasing $$$ for the Canadian military
>>
>>34740315
We don't need destroyers, we need new frigates. The CPF is a pretty capable when it comes to offensive capacity, but the hulls are getting too old. The CAF will always be underfunded for the task it has, especially the Navy. A fleet of patrol frigates and patrol subs are the only way to fulfill the force requirement.
