Is it really that important to learn how to pie-corners and shit like that for a home defence situation, or is just knowing how to shoot good enough?
This is how a real man shoots his firearm

You need training.
>>34731403
What is the downside of learning something that may help you? Are you black, will your friends beat you up for seeming too eager to raise your level of knowledge?
>>34731403
Honestly, if you have the money. Night vision is such a huge advantage.

> pie-corner
Problem is with pie corners is that it can leave you without adequate cover under certain situations.

>That guy never had any skills.
I'm pretty sure it takes a bit of skill to get 7th dan in a martial art.
>>34735443
Because he made some good movies when he was young and fit.
Now he's a successful movie star because he makes shitty direct to video seagalsploitation films that Russians consume like vodka.

The thing with funding Seagal films is money laundering and possibly tax benefits for corporate entities involved in 'em. There are corporate and organized crime entities in eastern Europe that like such things.
>>34733815
That's the gayest stance I've ever seen.

>7th dan in a martial art
As someone whoa acheived three (four was considered a "master"
and came with responsibilities like teaching for free so i noped out)
I assure it only takes time.
At some point that meant something but the commercialization of
martial arts in america ruined that

Also, you are talking about that guy who claimes to have trained with Morihei Ueshiba, after Ueshiba being dead.
And he claims to be an Navy Seal.
And that he worked for the CIA as an operative.

That is probably because 'murrican dojos give dans too fucking easily. When it comes to teaching for free and being referee/official at tournaments at travel expenses compensated, I see no problem in that. The ease of getting higher dans depends a lot on what martial art is in question.
>>34736247
I'm fully aware of Steven Seagal's bullshit, but his achievements in martial art before becoming movie star are quite fucking real. More or less.
>>34736341
yes
>>34736405
I'd be okay with Aikido if they'd be honest about what it is.
I mean, nobody would expect practitioners of Tai chi or Qigong to actually fight.
