Who are the best sci fi oper8ors?
I'm torn between ODSTs and Space Marines
>>34729532
Adeptus Astartes.
>fight until they die
>to kill them reliably you have to decap, or gib them.
>have armor that can take .50bmg and shrug it off.
>Use .75 caliber rpgmg's
>biological immorality
>>34729532
>>34729581
Adeptus Custodes are better. Each one is a one man army. Also Sly Marbo is a thing again.
>>34729532
Is it even a goddamn question?
>>34729532
Mechanized infantry from The Forever War.
>put into a special learning tank filled with suspension fluid
>in a span of 3 weeks, downloads and learns every single combat style and weapon from human history from hunting and gathering spears to lasers and future weapons.
>not just learning the weapons but actually experiencing every human conflict in history.
>comes out of the tank with over 3 millennia of combat experience and tactics
Great book btw. Extremely /k/
>>34729532
Spits acid and shit 7.5 feet tall and 800lbs, sorry masterchief you lose this one.
>>34729687
>muh Veitnam allegory
Trash book, Starship Troopers is better.
>>34729532
Not just space marines, blood angels OP. Extra credit for the death company.
>>34729659
>>34729747
Lol the chief still weighs more
>>34729791
>800lbs
Thats without armor
>>34729532
Astartes aren't operators, they're bioengineered quasi-humans in a wearable suit of tank armor who chainsaw things to death.
>>34729819
This. 40k fags are so autistic they can't even use the actual operators from their universe.
>>34729532
Probably John-117. Guy is so god damned operator he destroys multiple halo rings, enemy ships, etc by himself.
>>34729791
armor is another 400 on top of that, but ok.
>>34729532
ODSTs or Helldivers
>>34729783
Fucken kitten
>>34729687
You can have a character think faster, or know more trivia than you, but it's laughable to write characters purported to know more information than any author will ever be able to research.
The broader the field of knowledge, the more likely each member of your audience is to spot a mistake in their own field of expertise.
If you write a book about a surgeon, real surgeons will likely have a hard time suspending disbelief, but accountants, and lawyers, and linguists could enjoy it.
But if you write a book about a surgeon who does pro bono work for spanish-speaking teens and solves a mystery at the hospital by cross-referencing ledgers, then you've opened yourself to far more criticism.
When you expand to "millenia of information" you're guaranteed to have the accuracy, depth, and cleverness of a wikipedia article.

>Also Sly Marbo is a thing again.
What?
>>34729755
Both are great.
>>34730104
He was taken out now he's back in
>>34730384
As in rules? And a re release of his mini?
>>34729659
>Adeptus Custodes
Too bad they don't actually fight
Corpse worshipers need to embrace Chaos
>>34729532
Skitarii are the true operators. With infiltrators using stub-carbines being the most operator of all.
>>34730395
Not sure if the models out yet but he has rules again
>>34730395
Full cover
>>34729532
These are my super secret "fuck you" ODSTs
>>34729791
Because he's American.
>>34730420
Fuck off faggot.
>NO ONE VOTED FOR YOU! EVERYONE MUST BE A POWERBOTTOM TO 4 INTERDEMENINAL HOMO FAGGOTS
I like ODSTs but I really wish they would expand more on headhunters
>Extended spartan training, beyond even what regular spartan IIIs get.
>Only those that survive near-impossible missions even get considered
>Always the best of battle bros can finish training
>Get sent so far beyond enemy lines they're not expected to come back
>Tasked with destroying several bases by themselves
Jonah even severed an elite head and shit talked them while he did it.
