It would be an excuse to bring back the microgun, in a truck mounted scaled down version of a CIWS system to swat them from the sky.

Or even just traditional AA mounts, if they want to target something in visual range then something in visual range can target them right back.

They won't have the speed or durability of a plane but they also aren't as large. So it would be a question of bringing enough lead to bear.

Really, I can see the main advantage of such creatures being used in recon - but even that, a drone does better. Lighter, faster, cheaper, no funeral to pay for.
