What's the best gun for pocket carry?

Pic not related; it has no firing pin block and as such Ruger discourages carrying while chamberd

I really like my P238. Thing is positively tiny. SAO with a manual safety, so if that isn't your thing then look elsewhere. Handles like a dream, shoots well, and has good control surfaces. That's why I got it. Other pocket pistols are seemed lacking in those departments.
>>
>>34707444
>Pic not related; it has no firing pin block
The original LCP didn't either, but a million of them were sold and you never heard reports of them accidentally going off when all those guns were pocket carried.
>and as such Ruger discourages carrying while chamberd
They're just trying to cover their asses. This is a company that stamps "read instruction manual prior to use" on all their guns.
>>
>>34707444

That's a matter of opinion.

I have to dress for business, and go to places that are NOT gun friendly (even in AZ these places exist).

To suit my needs, I have been carrying a S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 w/o laser. I carry in a pocket holster, which as proven comfortable, and offers super deep concealment. The downside is that in a clutch situation, drawing it would be less than graceful.

I have had ZERO issues with this little mouse gun, and have well over 1500 rounds through it. Like any mouse gun, you'd better PRACTICE with it.

FWIW I'm no S&W fanboy, I enjoy firearms by many manufacturers.
>>
>>34707453

Nice suggestion, and a great shooter. When I carry my 938, I have it in an IWB. Wish I could get away with it as my EDC.

Love my P938, but it's just slightly too large for pocket carry (at least in my application).
>>
>>34707474
>you never heard reports of them accidentally going off when all those guns were pocket carried

Maybe no one pocket carried their LCPs because they realized that the only thing keeping the gun from going kaboom in their pockets was the sear face

No thanks.
>>
>>34707522
>Maybe no one pocket carried their LCPs because they realized that the only thing keeping the gun from going kaboom in their pockets was the sear face
You don't understand how a DAO pistol works, but that's beside the point. Even the LCP II isn't true SAO. The hammer has to travel back a little bit in order to be released by the sear. The firing pin block would only serve the purpose of stopping the inertia of the firing pin from traveling forward into the primer if the gun is dropped on its nose, but it's a titanium firing pin which has a low density to begin with.

The extra 1 inch is part of the reason I didn't get a 938, also because I really didn't like how it felt when it shot, versus the smoother feeling 238.

Anyone have a P3AT? I want one over an lcp considering Ruger literally ripped off the design and called it theirs, but their qc seems to always be kinda hit or miss
>>
>>34707775
A smooth shooting gun that conceals quite well IWB. My only issue is the backstrap on the 938 I fired was pretty aggressive and made my hand red after just 50 rounds, but I have smooth baby-tier programmer hands. Switching the safety on and off is a smooth action and requires no movement of the hand, just the thumb. Its got solid retention though, so only the deliberate action of taking it off will do that, so its very safe.

Its a solid gun and built to a high quality. I love my 238. Its not just a good CC, its a solid shooter that is fun at the range.

Waiting for the Seecamp folk to join in. I want one so bad, they're aesthetic as fuck and tiny but hear they're picky with ammo. Ironically I don't even have a CHL/CCP and don't plan to have one in the near future, but if I did I'd prolly with a S&W 442 (they make them without locks now) because I have a revolver boner

>>
>>34708052

yes and it is garbage. look up the reviews on youtube. the gun has a lot of design flaws regarding the clip and aiming. it is a failed designed.

I am waiting to see if the "spectrum" fairs better on the review table.
>>
>>34708338
:D
>>
>>34708571
Neither is very good. The LCP II has a hammer-fired trigger, which is supposed to make it better, but it's not a true SAO. The hammer has a few mm's of travel to the rear before it breaks and the hammer spring is pretty heavy. The Glock 42 and 43 triggers are pretty heavy as well, and Glock triggers in general feel like staple guns, but manage to be pretty shootable. I'd say that it's about a wash between the two.

Seecamps are a VERY niche gun. It's not just that they aren't reliable with every ammo. I owned a .32 caliber one and FMJ ammo didn't even fit into the magazines. You basically HAD to buy hollow points even to practice with it. Even then, it didn't feed every hollow point, even the ones recommended by the manufacturer, and every time a manufacturer would update their ammo, it would fuck with compatibility of the gun. Plus they have no sights. If you want a Seecamp, but want to shoot the thing with cheap ammo and have it cycle reliably, get a NAA Guardian instead.
>>
>>34707499
Seconded. I pocket carry the same pistol. Usually wearing khakis in business casual dress code. I like the Mountain Khaki brand Original style. The Bodyguard fits nicely in the inner pocket. I keep lone car key and a zippo in the outer to help break up any printing. I am always armed and no one knows.

Nearly every review I've seen shows it's perfectly reliable, at least with fmj which is what matters for .380 anyway, and if it isn't Kel-Tec will fix it free of charge. And here, someone who actually owns one.

I bought a g43 instead of a p938 for CC. I live in the ghetto and there's a high rate of robbery along my route to the train. I've never had a pistol with a safety, so I decided not to mess with my training by getting the p938. I handled it at the shop, and boy did I like that gun. I question my decision often, and sometimes kick myself for not splurging on it. But at the end of the day, I figure sticking with my training was the right idea for me.

I still think about getting a different Sig though, just to scratch that itch. The p938 was so sexy and felt so good, I figure I should consider buying one of it's big brothers as a range gun.

I carry a S&W Airframe in my jacket during the winter, in my vest pocket during the fall, and ankle bitch during spring/summer.

It's my back up so i will always have it on me and it's good for when I can't conceal carry my full size glock due to work or recreation limitations.

I went with a revolver so i would be able to shoot it through my jacket and vest pocket without having to worry about the slide catching. Considering my hands or at least my thumbs are in those pockets 99% of my idle time I figured it would be easier to drop Mr. Tyrone when he comes out of that ally with a knife that way.

I actually had a Curve and liked it a lot. It's basically a belly gun because no sights, but it felt and printed exactly like a large smartphone in your pocket (which was the entire point). You could easily carry it anywhere in any clothing because its silhouette in your pocket is an almost perfectly proportioned iPhone rectangle.

Why is this thread entirely populated by noguns faggots? The ONLY choice for a pocket gun is a snubnose revolver. Small autos are jam-o-matics and can't reliably cycle while firing inside a pocket.

STOP FAILING AT LIFE ANONS.

Is it just me or is there a gap in the market for a better cartridge for mouse guns?

Maybe some sort of 60 grain .22 centerfire, made with some sort of super hot modern powder. I'm envisioning something like a shortened 5.7x28 optimized for double stack mouse guns. 380 is simply too ghetto for refined gentlemen.

The hammer is already staged bud that is single action. If the hammer were being manuevered back fully while the trigger is being pulled, then it would be Double. I see what you mean about the hammer going back a bit before it falls, so maybe it could be called some sort of hybrid?

it's the takedown mechanism, not a safety. You use a coin or whatever to turn it to "unlocked" and poof, it comes apart.
