I know this isn't weapons related but either way it might as well be.

Flat feet.

I have flat feet and Im looking to get rid of them without going through surgery. Have any of you guys dealt with this problem.

Im in pretty decent shape but Ive always avoided running (stuck with swimming and biking) because my feet and legs are fucked when I start running.

I have orthotics but honestly they don't do shit
>>
>>34686182

Get better orthotics.

This is probably a question for /fit/. while /k/ is certainly the board for all things weapons related, the human body and it's maintainence is not commonly discussed here.
>>
>>34686206
/fit/ is for powerlifting and roids

Im assuming people on /k/ actually run and do cardio because there are mil people here

Go to /fit/ and start a running thread lol

This or surgery are your only options. Go to a specialist and get custom molded orthotics and wear quality shoes, it will be night and day. The sooner the better, your joints will degenerate faster if you don't. I had a good friend/prosthetics manufacturer make a few sets for me. The surgical option I was given was 2 years of surgery plus the removal of hip bone tissue and the fusing of several joints so I passed. If you go with the cheap titanium screw option where they just bolt your feet in place you get 10-15 years tops before serious arthritis sets in.

Depends I have flat feet,if I hadn't joined the army and became a scout they would be fine, but I did,and I have pretty bad stress fractures. But for just normal stuff running and the like you'll probably be fine
>>
>>34686182
Use kinesiology/sports tape.

Search for images or videos on Youtube to see how it's done.

During my physical, they just noted that I had flat feet and then I was in.
>>
>>34686182

i have very flat feet, wore special shoes as kid, orthotics whole life

forget running - you will ruin your ankles knees hips back & neck due to alignment issues

when you get older (heh) walking is plenty of exercise, biking is fine when you're younger

look into "contra dancing" do internet search for dances in your area, it's like low impact co-ed aerobics, ezpz dancing live music lots of girls much fun

Not only did I have flat feet as a child, I could literally turn the sumbitches damn near 180 degrees. Had a bone missing in my foot. Two small implants and shortening my Achilles' fixed that but I'm 27 now and can't walk worth a fuck half the time.

>>34686191

Hate to tell you but orthotics don't work worth a fuck either. I've used commercial ones, I've had custom ones built to molds of my feet, nothing works. Wore them for years and years.

>>34687379

Yea, I'm already fucked. I had the surgeries when I was 9 and 10. 17 years later I'm breaking apart. Played basketball until middle school and couldn't anymore. Could never play football. When I worked jobs working 10-12 hours a day, I'd have to use a cane to walk around the house when I got home. Strong opioids help some but it's not a permanent solution. Of course my situation is quite extreme and some of the remedies might work for other folk, but to no avail for me.

High end boots and other footwear well put an arch in your foot of you wear them enough.

Don't get shit like dr schools, go to an actual shoe store or orthopedist and they will fit you with good orthopedic running shoes/insoles/whatever.

A lot of redwings stores will do custom fits for boots and shoes as well.

I use orthotics in hiking boots. It gives maximum support, and lets me walk all day. Also feels like I'm waking on stilts because there's so much rubber and plastic under my feet from the combined orthotics and hiking tread. My feet are much flatter than even yours, OP. I have bad pronation as well. Hiking or high top skate shoes are designed to prevent ankle rolling. You should wear those kinds of shoes.
>>
>>34686182
Orthopedic tech here.
>>34687379 and the other guys have it right, if your feet are already ossified (=natural arc is totally gone like >>34691222) your options are custom orthotic soles in shoes with good ankle support, or straight surgery.

If the arch returns when you lift your foot, sport orthotics made of hard foam offer the support and cushioning you need even in flat shoes.

My mother told me about how her grandfather wore coke bottle halfs in his shoes to get arched feet over 2 years.Served in WW2 and became a successful car salesman in cali.

Thats all the help I can give my boi.
>>
>>34686182
Is this a problem that Americans have? Maybe if you weren't so unhealthy your foot muscles wouldn't collapse on you.
>>
>>34691401
You probably mean glass coke bottles
>>
I have flat feet. I use SOLE insoles and I've been able to run short distances with no pain (use to be that I couldn't run at all) after a few weeks after adjustment. I also use fibram five fingers.

I try not to run if I don't have to though.
