Shit. Better than a RAS, but still shit. I bought one to "have an AK." The rear trunnion sheared off due to it being cast, which causes the dust cover to sit at an angle and not let the bolt carrier fly forward after being pulled back. The dust cover also had a bend inward from the factory that left a nasty scratch in the bolt carrier and creates enough drag to not put the bolt into battery. It's also very loose in tolerances compared to my WASR, which makes it leak oil out of every hole imaginable. Also, the safety is in no way firm in movement like an AK safety should be and moves with the lightest touch. Would not reccomend.

What's wrong with Radical Firearms? I don't own one but I know they were reasonably popular at one time and this is the first I've heard that they're shit.

After all the sanctions and political fuckery the AK platform simply doesn't have the same value propostion it once had. Perhaps one day US companies will make non-shit AKs for the $600-800 range, but for now it's either shit domestic or overpriced import.

Unless you have a hard on over the AK platform, and have the cash to pay for quality, you're better off just getting an AR.

This. US companies insist on using low-quality cast parts where they shouldn't be. Bolts, carriers, and trunnions can't be shit parts. Especially the front trunnion, seeing as you can't just take a part like that off and replace it like you can in an AR.

US should just make milled AKs with forged BCGs, and price be damned. People will be drawn to the "MADE IN US" tag, and the actual AK crowd will appreciate a quality product...

Just get a WASR. The lack of dimples sucks (if you're into the cosmetics of the rifle) and the Century-filed magwell (these things were originally imported as single stack rifles, then filed open to take double stack mags) can be suspect. But if you inspect the rifle for these issues, check to make sure the sights aren't canted, you get a true combloc rifle with a hammer forged, chrome lined barrel that rolled off of the Cugir arsenal.

Plus, it has the bayonet lug and cleaning rod, which the RAS47 doesn't.

Just buy a yugo, a WASR, an AK63, or an AMD63 or 65.

I have a Zastava N-PAP, the ironic thing is that it's had more malfunctions than my AR15A4 (which has never failed on me.) still enjoy it despite the occasional problem and cheek pinching
