Stick to nylon bore brushes and use a bore guide for your cleaning rod. The old Hoppe's No.9 is still great for routine cleaning. Butch's Bore Shine is great for more difficult to remove deposits and copper fouling.

Mostly memes. Stay away from steel brushes and dont let solvent sit in your barrel for a long time. Also neutralize the solvents with oil when your done. Guns are very tough, you have to try really hard to do more damage to them than happens when they fucking fire a supersonic slug propelled by superheated high pressure gas.

You can't. Guns wear out. By the time your cleaning does anything it's time to throw it out and get a replacement.

Do not use WD40 as a lube, and do not put it on wood, this will tarnish and eventually ruin stockwood.
