How frowned upon is listening to music at the range? I'm thinking having tunes playing through earbuds under my muffs would be max comfy but I can see how it might be a safety concern for some people.
Might be shit for situational awareness, though if you keep your head on a swivel I wouldn't worry about that too much. On a range with an RSO I can see it being an issue. Shoot on private land and be free.

if you want to be a retard and ruin your hearing some ranges don't care
if them music is loud enough to drown out the gun fire noise then it is also loud enpugh to ruin your hearing
go for it

i think he meant wearing headphones UNDER earprotection ... friend of mine also has earprotection that can play music. So nope, not gonna ruin his hearing

Earbuds under earmuffs buddy

Impacted situational awareness, such as not being able to hear cease-fires and other range safety commands might be a bad thing OP

heh :)

Okay if you have electronic ear pro with a headset jack that'll give priority to outside noise. Bad otherwise.
>not bringing a Bluetooth boombox to the range to listen to T-Swift while shooting

I'm with this guy, OP. So if ya decide to go for it maybe just one earbud in so ya can hear ceasefires and whatnot
