Dude, buy a marlin 336, great deer hunting rifle and everyone needs that lever gat. Should run you at about $400 for a new one, i enjoy mine a lot. Also new marlins arent shit anymore, just make sure you get a NEW one like at least 2014 or later.

You could get a .300BLACKED upper that'd be great for deer, it's similar to 30-30 or 7.62x39 both of which are respectable deer rounds under 200 yards. If you're newgunz you shouldn't try to shoot a deer past 200 yards anyway.

Why would this matter? Most fudd hunters at my range show up, take like 5 shots just to zero the rifle, and leave.
