hey /k/ I picked up this Walther made HK G36 22lr today. Pic

Its so fucking sad that HK hasnt been able to release a civilian version of the G36C. Its one of my favorite rifles and knowing I cant have one unless it's .22lr or an expensive ass SL8 conversion makes me cry everynight.

Seriously, does anyone know if i can find a professional gunsmith and have him convert one of these .22lr versions to be chambered in .223 or is the onky alternative to get a converted SL8.

The AR-style mag, barrel, and flash hider would ruin it for me if you cared about it looking authentic. I hope the gun isn't that glossy-looking outside of the display picture.
That said, it's probably a better idea than doing an SL-8 conversion if you were ever planning on selling it. I can't imagine many other people willing to spend $6,000 on one after the big accuracy fiasco surrounding the rifle.

at that point why not just buy an airsoft g36

The .22lr version is probably just a straight blowback design, basically it's a 10/22 in a plastic shell. To turn it into anything else means building a whole new gun from the ground up.
