Its the spacing dude, the hole in the handguard for the light is fairly close to the barrel. You cant change that without going to a later model.

As I said in the past the SF handguard sucks for actual usability, you grip has to change from a sideways C to a U to activate the fucking light. The light is also easy to ND and is extremely prone to going on in a rifle case or similar storage setup. If you want functionality you have to buy one of the newer ones that doesnt have the same aesthetic.
