Why would an electrician be needed in combat


The only way you can see combat now, is by going 03 series and even then you'd have to get lucky and maybe get a slot to go to BRC or something.

Or you could go Army with an OP40 and then you'll basically be guaranteed to see combat.

You will be doing menial manual labor for terrible pay, all while being bullied by pissy guys who've been doing the job just a little longer than you. Your skills will be hardly transferable to the real world. Your best bet is to tech electrical engineering at a community college for a few semesters and try to get an apprenticeship with some kind of actual electrician.

Recon hasn't seen any combat in 6+ years. Marine won't be sent to combat. Ranger regiments are better funded, equipped and trained; and will subsequently be given the mission. Recon literally does MEUs for facebook photoshoots. OP40 if you want to see combat. Everything else if you want to be treated like shit, be completely underwhelmed and be able to wear shirts sold by 'disgruntled veteran' or '9line apparel' and make up war stories to validate your wasted 4 years.
