I don't know much about guns at all, but I'm very interested in them.
I want to learn more, but I have no fucking idea where to start.
Can somebody tell me some basics or at least point me to the right direction?
The picture is a PHaSR if you don't know.

Avoid 4chan altogether.
You need to read a lot and buy guns.

Watch Forgotten Weapons and C&Rsenal.

Don't be afraid to take a beginner's firearm safety / handgun class.

This is a good start, as well as looking at channels like British Muzzleloaders and Cap & Ball. C&Rsenal is probably the best bet honestly, since they walk you through how a firearm actually works.
Take a long ass hunter safety course and acquire a hunting license. If you are in America

Just guns or military in general?
History and tech stuff is a good starting point.
For example, when and into what kind of environment was a gun designed for. What kind of problems did it encounter, what kind of modifications it received etc. One good example is how assault rifles were born, easy place to start.
When you know something about a product, it's also easier to categorize it and understand the general idea behind it.

Adding to this, if you want to learn SHOOTING, then reading about marksmanship will give you a good foundation to build your skills on - and remember, practice makes perfect.
