Germany was strategically beaten at this as its resources was steadily depleting. One major point of the allied strategy in WWII was waging a long term war of attrition that they knew Germany couldn't keep up with.

The most important thing would be to stop the Allied air interdiction campaign against your railway stations, bridges, and fuel depots that fuck up your logistics, but you're going to need more than flak and a gutted airforce to do that.

Step one: steal all the doormats in town.

von Rundstedt and Kesselring, now they were competent and should have been given command of the troops Rommel had in Africa, Italy and France, that might have made a difference.

Allied counter intellingence managed to fool Germans to believe that main landing would come later to the north.
Also Rommel was on holiday and nobody wanted to wake up Adolf when the landing happened so at the critical hours the resistance wasn't coordinated well.

With more men, some armor support and fast counter attacks it would have been possible.
Aircraft would have also been very effective against landing crafts and their mother ships, if it was possible to hold airspace that close to Britain.

Without nukes and Soviets declaring war on Japan, Operation Downfall could have been the greatest bloodbath in WWII.
Japanse predicted where allies were going to land and concentrated way more forces there than allies estimated to confront. They even had somewhat decent tanks and antitank weapons in homeland, but on the other hand many of them were just fanatic peasants with guns or not.

Yes. The main difference is, the wehraboos would be even MORE buttblasted because they'd have lost to the slavs without the excuse of 2-front wars being hard.

Rommel was one of the only axis high commanders to face US&UK tactical air superiority, one general whose name I fail to recall wanted to keep armoured units in the rear then defeat the allies with armoured maneuvers when they attempt to move inlands, instead of preventing them from establishing a bridgehead in the first place. This plan was doomed to fail because allied airpower killed the mobility of axis units.

Failure of d-day would've been absolutely disastrous for the allies but would've only served to prolong the war, best option for the germans after d-day would've been to withdraw or surrender en masse on the western front while maintaining resistance on the east.

Fuck, more than 3 million men were on duty protecting Germany from the air campaign alone and nearly 70% of all munitions made during 44-45 were for anti-air duties. You tell me if that would've made a difference.
