Serious question; how good or how bad is a nugget? Should i buy it for my 1.st weapon? Cost of bullets?
>>
>>34560681
Its shit, like this post
>>
>>34560681
Just get an ar-15
>>
>>34560681
Its shit. but thats what makes it fun

its fun. bullet is fine, 2k rounds will run you about 300-400 bucks
>>
>>34560681
>how good or how bad is a nugget?
mediocre
>Should i buy it for my 1.st weapon?
at 300 bucks the rest of your options are equally meh. most of those meh guns are superior to a nug however they dont fill the same niche
Cost of bullets?
roughly the same as 308 now
>>
>>34560681
It's not worth current prices unless you love presoviet Russian history in particular. There are better bolt guns in better cartridges, milsurp and otherwise. If you can find a K31 for a reasonable price (under $450), that's a better deal. Otherwise I'd go with a Savage, personally.
>>
>>34560731
that 2 should be a 1 in 2017. unless youve got a source who hasnt updated thier ammo prices in the past few years.
>>
>>34560723
No
>>34560744
What old bolt actions can i get that are roughly under 500 and are good bob/innawoods weapons ?
>>
I recommend a 10/22 for your first rifle. not the .22 meme. but its fun to shoot and cheap to shoot which means you'll do it often.

How about getting a 10/22 and converting in full auto?
>>
>>34560763
Any restriction on caliber? Full power only? Probably a used sporting rifle with box magazine. If you want specifically milsurp, the K31 is seriously an excellent rifle, worth $700 or better but they go for a good deal less most of the time. You'll need to order ammo online, but $.70 per round isn't terrible.
>>
>>34560782
For me thats 2 much for a bullet
>>
>>34560808
Ok, then what caliber are you looking at? Something intermediate? Something reloadable? What do you want the gun for (hunting, home defense, practicing a skill, etc)?
>>
>>34560763
Pretty much any common infantry rifle will suit you as long as it's not some special snowflake variant or a top quality never-issued never-fired collectors piece. Mosins, lesser Mausers, Enfields, K31, Mannlichter-Carcano, all of these meet the sub-500 criteria. Cheapest to feed will be the Mosin @ 55 cents per round (silver bear)

Of course, you could always buy a rifle made with civilian use in mind, and with some tweaking and good glass probably shoot "better" than a 60+ year old milsurp fresh out of the warehouse, they won't be as sturdy, nor will they charge from clips (usually). Also, bayonets are the shit.
>>
From a historical context it was a great rifle, but if you arent trying specifically to collect something historical you should look at new production rifles.

My first gun was a SKS-M, that bitch taught me everything I needed to know. for the most part, about how to shoot a rifle.

If it was 10 years ago, hell yeah I would say buy a nugget + case of ammo. But sadly it is the current year where Russia and other Com Block states would rather get top dollar for their surps and ammo to kill arabs in the middle east.

However, if you want a rifle that has a lot of history, sure get a nugget. Otherwise, their are cheap mausers and springfields to fill that mil surp niche.

Just my 2 cents.

>cheap springfields
What
>>
>>34560681
This is better then a nugget

surplus ammo is dried up on the global market, no more will ever come to the USA.

.45+ cents a round is what to expect
>>
>no more will ever come to the USA.

That's a pretty wild claim, esp. considering the round is still in service in a few places. It would be better to say "don't count on any more cheap surplus."
>>
>>34561473

A few importers have stated Middle East countries are paying around 60-70 cents for surplus 54r, and they dried the market bone-dry.

There is none available to be purchased that a importer could buy to bring here, and anything dated from 1993 and up for 54r can't be imported as it's true AP, no 54r has been imported for well over a year, it's ogre
>>
why doesnt wolf or tulammo just make ~30 cent 54r like they make for .308 and stuff
>>
>>34560681
>how good or bad is a nugget?
Compared to what? Which grade and era of nugget? 91/30, m44, m38, chinknugget, or finn nugget? Purchased sight unseen or hand selected by someone who really knows what he's looking for?

They run from garbage to "you'd literally have been better off paying a midget with AIDS to gnaw your nuts off" compared to literally any modern production boltgun, and range from decent to utter shit when compared against other WW1/WW2 rifles.
>>
>>34560731
>2k rounds will run you 300-400 bucks
Try $800-950.

buy it. they are super duper
>>
>>34560731

It's funny how with surplus gone for like a year and a Half people still think its all over and cheap, talk about out of reality.

I just heard that Lincoln was shot in fords theatre guys!
>>
>>34560681
Shitty meme gun that was shilled on /k/ and many other places a long while back so people could sell off their stock that was rotting way in the storeroom. Most people either absolutely love it or find that it was a complete waste of money and effort and hate it. You're honestly better off buying something new, it'd probably be cheaper too.
>>
10/22 is best answer. If it's your first gun, you need practice more than anything else. Nothing helps you practice more than cheap ammo and low recoil. What you save on ammo will pay for the 10/22. In a SHTF, you'll be shooting more rabbits and the like than anything else. You never outgrown the 10/22, you add a mid-power center-fire rifle to the equation, like a .308 or 30-06 and you have your bases covered 98% of the time.
>>
>>34560681
Buy a converted 7.62x39 Type 99. Once you go arisaka you never go back.
>>
>>34564061
This is a really good suggestion if you can find one.
>>
>>34564061
I thought only Type 38s were ever seen in 7.62x39 after the Chinese had their hands on them long enough.
>>
>>34560681
Nugget is ok if you can find one for the right price, have a hard on for Russian milsurp or want a steel prostate stimulator. Other than that I can't help but, recommend other guns that would still fit the bill of being in the same price range and having similar capabilities.

My first gun was a Mossberg 500 I bought when I was 18. Let's me hunt, shoot skeet, blast dindus, and general fuckery. I was very happy with it
>>
>>34560681
buy it so you can meme about it on 4chan
