Chances are if they're going to be based in europe ongoing they'll get repainted, or they might not. But when your primary deployment of vehicles has been desert for the last few years it makes sense to use that camo scheme as your default.

Tan's the default color now. It used to be OD during the Cold War when the main threats were in Europe, but now the main threads are in the Middle East.
Look at the tanks deployed in the 1991 Gulf War. They were taken from Europe or South Korea so they were arriving in OD or woodland colors.

And face it from 3000m + I really doubt a little bit of a natural appearing color will make much difference especially in prepared and concealed positions versus radar, IR and other sensors.

It's always surprised me how hard it is to see tanks even with mismatched camo in any normal environment at range.

It's mostly just for show. Most vehicles in USAREUR are already painted for Europe, and most tankers based in Europe are in Strykers. Those vehicles also happen to mostly be outdated and only really to train for actual deployments. The Abrams were only recently reintroduced, and that they're keeping with the tan paint job shows how little the US actually gives credence to the idea of a Russian invasion.
