Has anyone replaced the gas piston on a new VEPR? I'm catching hell doing mine. After drilling and using a punch, I was still unable to get the rivet to come out. I even got out my dremel and ground away where the rivet heads should be and cannot see any occlusion in the metal. The bolt carrier appears to be solid, with no visible weld or rivet. The gas piston won't unscrew no matter how much force I apply. I'm really wanting to replace this part (it's my last part for 922r compliance) so I can slap on my muzzle brake and use the 30-round mags.
Any of you AK experts have any suggestions?

10-bit is not a substantial improvement, i wouldn't worry about it

consider also that the source is probably not lossless, so there's no reason to use FLAC or larger file sizes unless you just have storage to waste.

Are you shooting steel shot? If so, you may want to try some diferent velocity loads. Pushing steel too fast can cause them to bounce off the choke and "skate" off in weird directions. Lead can do it to, but usually not until high magnum velocities.

The steelies are really loud. Basically built like a regular AK steel mag, but in 12ga. Clang a lot, metal on metal noise, spring noise. The Molot mag IMO is way nicer, but the steel mags are WAY above the SGM.

It's not the "squishyness" that's the issue.
It's the length.
Despite what 2 3/4 shell are, not all crimps are created equal.
There's a little ledge right under the feed tower, that causes them to get hung up, mostly it's buckshot with a rolled crimp.
Just need to stop being lazy and round off that ledge and I'm fairly confident they'll feed fine.

About the only qualified complaint you should make is the scope is not technically "orginal issue" to the rifle and it's in way too nice shape as compared to the rifle. But I am not about to fuck it up. The rifle is in it's natural condition, even then the receiver, which I only blued has wear from natural regular use.
