Why is a Brazilian Saturday night special manufacturer innovating in firearms design while American and European manufacturers are still producing 70-100 year old gun designs?

That fucking gun looks like it was manufactured by Razer.
All it needs is some fluorescent lights.

You're in luck. It comes in dozens of colors, and there's a "customizer" on the website where it's almost a game to mix and match which colors you watch. Talk about guns becoming like toys.

That is an easy one to answer. The American market is very nostalgic. They want to hold on to the old styles. Bolt actions didn't get popular until after world war one. Ar15 didnt get popular with the public until the 90s. A new design is always met with hostility. People still go on about the m1 like it was the best thing ever.

>innovating

I'm new here, but a practicing designer. Other than the aesthetics of some sweeping countoured curves and two stage moulding of some lurid colours for the grip, why is this pistol any differant fom others on the market? If these are the only differance then it is definitely not innovation.
>>
>>34541648
His point remains. There's still the Judge and the Curve. I don't know why OP didn't mention kel-tec though. They're a company that also makes inexpensive guns and has a spotty reputation for quality(from what I've heard), but they're also the single biggest innovator in the industry today. Meanwhile, high end manufacturers stick to making pimped out 1911s and various other very conservative designs. I guess FNH is a possible exception but still. Why do these cheap manufacturers come up with more new designs?

Most of their guns are clones, the curve is novel at best and The Thunder 5 beat the judge by a decade. Joe Haldeman's "the forever war" beat Taurus to the judge in 1975.

and yet no one cares about either of those and everyone cares about the judge.

Give me a white/bright orange and I may consider it.

I like the idea of making CC handguns fashionable.
>>
>>34542133
What you just said (fashionable) is the entire marketing idea here. It's target audience is probably ladies and nu males who only see the scifi colors and wouldnt have considered a gun before
>>
>>34542153
I understand that is the marketing scheme, but I support it because black/fde/stainless is boring as fuck.
When coloring becomes more than just a ceracote over a black gun and is implemented much more it becomes interesting.

I hope that more companies follow suit and come out with colorful designs because god knows I'm not trusting my life to a taurus.

Kel Tec isn't TOO bad. I've fired 3 different types of Kel Tecs and they've all functioned well. For a cheapo brand they could be a hell of a lot worse, but it's a shame they have to stoop down to a cheap company. They need better standards.

honestly judging buy that central rotating spur, i dont think that revolver is actually a taurus
>>
>>34542105
its the memes. Its no secret that taurus is not smith or colt tier but they make guns that just work. Not the best guns or fit and finish but they shoot every time. Honestly for all the shit taurus gets, im glad that they are experimenting with new ideas. Guns never seem to change much so it is nice seeing new stuff.
