Could yo tweak the blue to bring it closer to the original blue/Bondi Blue hybrid that the G3 towers were? Maybe add the classic G3 logo behind the Apple logo, like on the OG B&W tower as well?

Bonus points if you could do a "frog design beige" one, with a single translucent green detail, maybe the mag release, (to match the top-mounted case open button on the original 8600/9600/PowerMac G3 case) and the classic apple font/rainbow logo in its authentic ~1/3" high wonder.

But I don't know whether I should be edging or ordering another parts kit right now.

OP here, and I do. My folks almost bought a Motorola StarMax before we ended up with a 6AM Black Friday '97 doorbuster PowerMac 6500 w/ monitor+printer from CompUSA. That thing popped my StarCraft cherry and so much more.

I was an OG Apple need back when apple fandom was all about arguing the pros and cons of RISC vs CISC cpu architecture and busting nuts over the fact that apple was crazy enough to design their upcoming consumer OS around the Unix kernel.

I still think that apple died when they dropped the PowerPC architecture and that in a way, the ARM+iOS devices are more authentically Apple/Macintosh products than any MacBook/iMac/Pro sold in the past 10 years.

I've got a bunch of old ones lying around my folks house. The ones I'm most proud of are the Color Classic, the Quadra 950 (33mhz and 16mb (expandable to 32!) of face-ripping performance shipping with 500mb of built-in storage and costing the better part of $10k in 1991-92 for the tower alone. It has a fucking ignition key, and Toy Story was probably rendered on its sisters.), the Newton OS eMate, and about a half dozen different G3 era iMacs.
