What do you want it for? What's your budget? How much shooting experience do you have?

M&P 15
M&P 10

I've been shooting for years and mostly for fun and bc all the rifles I have are bolt-action

Budget is undetermined at the moment just wanting some good ideas

Try a quality AR-15, AR-10, or maybe an FAL or PTR-91.
For AR-15s look at the M&P-15 Sport II or Ruger AR-556 for solid entry level guns, or build your own. BCM and Colt make good no-nonsense high/mid tier rifles.
For AR-10s look at PSA if on a budget, or Armalite if you have a little more money. If you can afford it, try LMT.
Look at DSA for FALs, and PTR for G3/CETME clones.
Ruger Mini-14s are super fun as well. Very simple and reliable, and have that "soul" ARs don't.

Was wanting a br type but it's mainly just for fun

FAL or AR-10, nigga. PTR is you don't mind an expensive blowback tube gun with a buttload of recoil for its size and weight. The M14 is cool, but pretty shitty for all practical purposes.

This.
Colt LE6920s are rock solid rifles and closest to an M4. but the M&P 15 is a solid gun
Also op there's nothing wrong with getting a factory built AR.
Op here.
I like the style of a bullpup but would it be worth it for a battle rifle?
>>34511104
No
Also I heard the mdr is coming out next month you should go ahead and give desert tech 2000 dollars now
>>34511121
>Also I heard the mdr is coming out next month
Can confirm. Have heard this for 5 years, so it must be true.

>Colt LE6920s are rock solid rifles and closest to an M4.
Nah, that'd be the FN 15, since they're the ones who actually make military m4s.
>>34511104
The only bullpups that are really worth it are the AUG, FS2000, and P90.

The US gov took pity on Colt after Remington took away their chunk of the M4 contract shared with FN, so they gave them a small $7.5mil contract to make M4s for overseas allies. So technically they are still making military M4s, just not for us.

Buy a C308 right now for 430. If you end up not liking it, sell it. No brainier.
>>34511193
No, they just dont anymore for the US. Still good rifles.
>>34511246
>C308
I'd suggest this too.
Easy to find at good prices, same with the parts.
I'm currently repairing/refurbishing a CETME that will ultimately be sold to my brother, will be his first gun.

+1 for 10/22
Yeah right now on classic firearms you can get a C308 for $500, you get 9 magazines and a 50 dollar rebate as well.
