Anyone know decent budget knives for starting out? I've never owned a high quality knife.

I don't really wanna pay more than 60$, preferably something around 30$.

I was looking at pic related, but I feel like it costs too much for a hobby I'm just starting out with.

I'll sell you a really good knife for around $50. I have a ZT 0350 Blackwash that I never use.

>>34506537
Doubt you can be arsed shipping to Germany :^)
>>
>34506359 get a folding knife from gerber or smith and wesson, something 20-40 dollars will be high enough quality to not qualify as a POS but cheap enough its affordable if you lose it or something. I personally liked the gerber freeman guide, its a pretty solid knife that lands in your price range. Stay away from anything under 20 bucks because they are almost alway cheap ass steel that doesnt do much other than look good.

I'm not OP, but if you aren't shipping to Germany, how close are you to Pennsylvania?

I bought a $5 Walmart knife that was discontinued and it's been one of my favorite work knives. Smooth opening (I keep it oiled) and stayed sharp for about two years of heavy abuse after I had it professionally sharpened.

Knive hobby is like gun hobby only you get to use them and practice less. One good small knife does the utility work of every cheap fighting knife you like but more efficiently and longer.

Knives are gay after you have a good pocket knife, fillet knife, and hunting/skinning knife of appropriate steels.

If you're a yuropoor maybe a fighting knife but it's shit you never get to apply, even for practice, to have fun with. Research steel types in combination with historical use in detail if you're a collector. New people don't realize steel isn't the same steel from blade to blade and each has dramatic perks. Some steel is very hard and great for skinning and keeping a blade sharp but very brittle. Some steel is very tough and can flex without losing shape or breaking. Some good steel is inbetween hard and bendy doing well for several tasks. Bendy =/= bad. Good but expensive bendy is the best for doing certain task, like chopping or striking hard things while hard will break at the same task but be incredible at cutting for long durations. Cheap ~$40 steel will dull and break without being good at either.

Skinning/short knife: you want hard steel.

Chopping/machete: you want bendy steel.

Cheap out and you buy the same thing multiple times with a lot of broken shit and nothing to be proud to own. Cry once buying something nice and you only have to buy once, shit will last forever and you can brag at your gucci that your friends are too poor to own.

Rubber training knives and airsoft gas pistols are good fun with friends and a cool hobby.

Starting out with what? Whittling? Skinning game? Trench fighting? Opening envelopes and picking at your nails during your soul-sucking nine-to-five desk job?
