What would you do if I buy it instead of saving to get my kit built

>>34507380
I try to do as much updating and let the buyer know as much as I can about when the item is going out, when I receive the money, or when I ship. It makes me mad because like you said everyone else doesn't and just sit on your money and then eventually something shows up on your porch

>I keep waiting for the day some retard types their own PP email wrong and I send a gift to the wrong address.
This happened to me with Rogersnative on the files once, he gave me the wrong email when I bought my triangle and hardware from him when I was thinking about building my kit as a folder. It's really gay because I've bought from him a lot and know his paypal email by heart and even asked him in my PM if his paypal email is still the same *******@*****.com and he said no and gave me a different one, then when I sent like $100 his way he PMed me a few hours later saying he gave me the wrong email

I got lucky and nobody was on the receiving end but still it really, really pissed me off

>>34507394
Eventually a nice 74M clone would be really cool but 2bh dressing up my SLR is good enough for me right now
>>
>>34507445
I always wanted the 107fr as well. Never ended up buying one though.
>>
>>34507453
I wish arsenal just used a 5.5mm pin in those. That would be just too convinient though
>>
>>34507453
>>34507415
It's why I always fucktuple check my PP address when I type it in.

So if you send a gift to an email that isn't registered with PP, nothing happens? I know if you pay via goods and services you have buyer's protection and all that jazz. But I think if you sent a gift to a legit PP address, there's nothing you can do to get the money back but beg.

I knew something was up after like 5 minutes I got no notification of "You sent $XX.XX to Joe Schmoe" so I canceled the payment, but otherwise yeah someone would have just gotten lucky and gotten free money from me

>>34507486
Yeah, this is the one thing for me too. I can deal with not having small incorrect parts for just wanting a lookalike rifle to go shoot, but the incorrect stock bugs me the most. Obviously if I wanted a clone of one I'd go all out for one but I'm content with what I've got when it comes to dressing it up
>>
>>34507535
I got a triangle on mine so it's a lot better for shooting. But in all honesty the stock angle does bother me. And that's so autistic because it is such an amazing rifle.

Got to fingerfuck some real FEG and Romarm AK's. The FEG models are much nicer - the Romarm AK's are crude as fuck. That said, in term of European AK's, the ones with the best fit and finish are probably milled Bulgarian AK's made by Arsenal (but I don't trust the stamped Bulgarian AKs distributed by ISD). Saigas are even better, but they have become extremely rare and pricey due to sanctions on Russia. Old SDM AK's are even cruder than Romanian AK's. In the mean time SDM improved the finish, but the rifles are still far from running as smoothly as Bulgarian AK's (the plastic furniture feels cheap and weak as fuck).
>>
Also note on furniture on milled AK's:
One difference between a stamped AK and a milled AK is that the stamped AK has a much bigger opening in front of the receiver. It is absolutely possible to adapt stamped AK handguards to milled AK receivers by dremeling the part that comes inside the receiver. I have seen pictures of Zentico furniture (handguards + railed dust cover) on milled AK's. But be careful when using the Dremel. If you cut off too much material, you'll fuck up your expensive handguard!
As a general rule, stocks aren't interchangeable between milled and stamped AK's. Probably the best option is to cut off the parts that hold the stock and weld a plate with a stock adapter instead.

Alright so i bought a couple Romanian 75rd wind up drums a couple years ago. Dident bother to clean the oil out of them. loaded them up and left them in my safe. The more ive thought about it the more ive worried. would the oil inside the drums have any effect on the ammo inside them? The rounds arent exactly dripping in oil but every other one has a light coating on it. Think they were wolf military classic 124 grain HP's if that makes any difference.
>>
>>34510610
They are fine

It's probably fine but there are certain oils and solvents that will kill primers. WD40 for example will kill ammo. Probably fine but might be worth shooting the ammo out and replacing the oil with grease.

Can anyone give any info on Blackheart AKs? Atlantic is selling them for $659 (discounted by like $150 or something), and nutnfancy gave them a good review a couple years back.
>>
>>34511749
Good point. Sad people would buy something without even knowing what the build quality is. Speaking of build quality:

How is the Kobra red dot sight? Saw them advertised in an AK(yes the rifle) magazine, and I love the way they look, but know zilch about them. Anyone here have experience with them? How is the quality and battery life? Are they hard to zero like some other Russian optics I've read about on here? Should I just get some other Ruskie optic?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just getting my feet wet in AK stuff, Thanks in advance!

don't buy it just because it's going away.

if you do, just get one with a folding stock. it's not that much more. if you want the folder, sourcing another and installing it would be a waste.

if I had to buy a semi-auto shotgun today it would probably be a mossberg 930 JM or a cheap A5 I could try to convert to rhodesian spec, but I have horrible taste and my 1897 is fast enough

adding onto this, same guy, nobody will have one because they don't sell. Fudds eat up C39V2s because they just see an AK built in muricuh and think it's cool and buy it. Nobody there will be willing to spend that much because they don't know the difference between it and a shitty one.

I see... What would some better optics be? If possible, I'd like one with an etched reticle so if the battery dies on me, I won't be handicapped by the lack of illuminated reticle. But it isn't a deal breaker.
>>
>>34515289
I have the PA 3x ACSS on my rifle. It's a nice optic if you're not dead set on having slavshit on there.

If you are...RAKURS-A?

I've only got first hand experience with the Obzor and Rakurs (haven't shot Rakurs yet tho) but the PK red dots are all pretty good too

Unless you're specifically after a Russian optic you'd be better getting an Aimpoint on a side rail, but if you're after a Slav optic and aren't going to delude yourself and think it's better than western counterparts there are some pretty good Russian optics out there
>>

Your slav optic mysteriously shuts off after a year. Good luck.

More durable, better battery life, better quality, if something were to actually crap out on it you can get a hold of customer service and have it fixed, they're generally lighter, generally smaller, etc

I'm not dead set on Slav optics, just like the way they look. Ultimately I want something that will be reliable and durable. Function>form is always my preference. What sort of Aimpoint would be good for a 7.62x39 AK? Would be using the side mount rail.

Some dots have 3000 hour rating, probably much more on lower settings. Certainly lower than an Aimpoint but what she the significance of this

Some are, many are in par.

Fuck customer service. I mean I suppose if you're 'running' your shit hard sure go with an aimpoint if they honor reasonable replacement

I bought a PRO in 2012 (I think, I can't even find the midway email) and replaced the first battery earlier this year. Didn't even need to, but I'm on a yearly replacement schedule with all of my optics now so it was time.

you won't get them that must cheaper domestically, if you feel like dealing with slavs you can get them for wholesale.

I have a stamped Nodak Spud reciever. I want to get an AK built with Russian red furniture to look as much like a typical AK. I already have a WASR and I'm going to put an RDS, polymer furniture and a folding stock on it.

Who is the best AK builder for under $1500? I was looking into petronov arms. I've seen their work and their Russian red furniture AK looked beautiful. It's $1200 not including the $100 I paid for the receiver.
>>
>>34515965
Petronov Arms is io Inc tier from what I've heard on here
>>
>>34516005
>Petronov Arms is io Inc tier from what I've heard on here

I was actually with my friend when I saw the petro, and he ended up sending his receiver to have it built. He's supposed to get it back within a month, so I'll see how it turned out. It looked really great in store and everything was straight and clean.

He was laughing at me at the time because my WASR wood is falling apart and my sights were slightly canted. Zero'd the WASR fine though later.

I'm in CA, and this is my only AK receiver. I have until end of June 2018 to register my fully built AK as an assault weapon and keep my "features" and removable mag. I don't want to fuck up this AK because I don't know when or if I'll ever be able to own another AK that's not molested.

I read about that too, but the gun shop owner who knows the owner of Petro, I think his name was Anthony, says that Anthony bought Lancaster and all of their tools. But that it's not Lancaster, just Lancaster equipment. He could be bullshitting.

I'll see how it is when I see my friends rifle.

Any other good builders out there under $1500?

>Russian Red
When will this meme die?

Protip: any American dealer trying to sell you "Russian Red" finished furniture is scamming you. More often than not you can just buy actual NOS Russian furniture with a much nicer, richer finish for around the same price point.

Anyway, check this shit:
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/07/07/potd-9x39mm-us/

Whatever yokel was working on making US-made Vintorez rifles needs to hurry the fuck up before this stuff makes it here. I'll probably buy a couple of boxes of Wolf 9x39 just to have 'em. Kinda regret not buying 4.7x30mm when I saw it.

Hey lads, nooblet here. I wasn't planning on getting an AK any time soon, but I found a fixed stock N-PAP at Cabela's for $550. Pretty sure it's also 10% so it'd be $495 before taxes. The sticky says N-PAPs are usually between 600-700.

Should I get it?
>>
>>34516636
Yeah, there you go. During the great Sandy Vag panic it was literally the only ammo my Academy could get a hold of, and since nobody has an MP7, it sat on the shelf for literally two years before they just pulled it.

$500 for an NPAP isn't bad, but given that it's at Cabela's at that price I'm tempted to assume it's used and in poor condition. Make sure you open it up and get a good look at it before committing.

Also, go buy a bunch of the discounted gift cards on eBay right now if you're gonna do it. You can get 3 $100 gift cards for $82 each at the moment.

I was at a Gander Mountain last week. Everything for sale, including the displays and furnishings. There were probably 500 rounds of AE and FN 5.7 that were in beat to shit boxes held together with packing tape. Was hoping I'd get lucky and they'd heavily discount the boxes due to condition but the managers are no longer allowed to affect prices because the liquidators own everything. Thought for sure I was going to score some 5.7 for hella cheap.

I've never seen 4.6 for sale except at the range I was at.. because they had a rental MP7 to go with it.

.22 seems to more or less be as "back" as it'll ever be. Bought some winchester at 6 cpr. Cheapest I've seen .22 (that isn't thunderbolt) in a retail store in years.

Military AKM's have an extra Y-stamp and an I-stamp opposite of it for where the 3rd fcg axin pin goes. All the decent US AK receivers that are made now have these stampings since they use Polish or other Eastern European shells or otherwise. The fake Y/I stampings are also ugly as fuck and never match, add that to the lack of proper 3-place selector markings with, and they look really off. The only excusable circumstance for these are imported commercial rifles like the Arsenals, VEPRs, etc.
