Feet are unarmored, tabi socks and sandals. Always wondered why they never got crippled from getting stabbed in the feet with spears if they weren't on horseback

armpits, shoulders, groin, upper legs are naked compared to plate armor. why? fucking japs have little and shitty ore on their fucking gook islands. thats why their blacksmiths had to hammer fold and forge like crazy to get some decent steel out of the iron sands they had as their only iron resource... to make a single sword (what would just be a long knive for peasants in europe btw.) or lamella for their gay anti sharp knive armor. fuck that meme. take a full plate armor and a dürrer, and tojo is left in pieces.

Japanese traditional armor was upgraded to be bulletproof when muskets (not rifles) came to be used. Nanban do was just more prestigious to some, because foreign is the new cool.

Samurai were horse archers first, cavalry second.
Most of the armor armor was made primarily to look nice and protect from enemy arrows, not to stop spears.

Depends, most of the samurai were actually foot soldiers, like the good 2/3 of them, most samurai weren't that wealthy, especially as you go on with time. The highest of the stereotypical smaurai was the horse-archer, sure (kyuba no michi and all that), but just like the nobility in Europe, a good deal of them were a small thing (see ji-samurai about that). Besides, what the "samurai" were evolved vastly during the feudal era in terms of fighting strategies and equipment. Kamakura samurai and Momoyama ones weren't really the same. The tosei gusoku don't have much to do with the o-yoroi in that regard.
