I picked up this old leather holster from the flea market today. Do you think its okay to have the trigger exposed on my model smith and wesson 637?

All old style revolver holsters are like that, even ones that are still made, even holsters designed for double action revolvers, so apparently some people think it's safe. I wouldn't own a holster that didn't cover the trigger guard, though.

The retention strap goes behind the hammer. It is fine

>double action
would you carry a glock without a holster covering the trigger too you spergo
>>34484894
youngfag detected. Hammer covered on a double action gun with a transfer bar safety is as safe as a gun can be while loaded.

How old are you?

Man I have seriously underestimated the ignorance of youngfags when it comes to wheelgats. No you should not carry a glock with the trigger uncovered and that has FUCK ALL to do with safe ways to carry a DA revolver.

Seriously.

unironically 42.

Unironically kill yourself.

but I like surprises...

i picked up the holster for 10 bucks, I figured I could take a risk and wear it for awhile and see how it works out. I feel pretty secure with the strap covering the hammer, however, if the old leather strap pops off it would be a different story.

Yeah then you just have to have something unintentionally apply 10-15lbs of force to the trigger straight back while something else holds the gun in place resisting that force until the gun goes off....
