>>
>>34481085
This seems more /out/, but I typically make sure to not sit or lay my bare skin in the grass.
>>
>>34481085
I live on the coast, so the first thing I do is go for 15 minute soak in the saltwater. This kills them and soothes the bites.

>>34481097
Also this. Make sure you hit boots and pants, and make sure you tuck your pants into your boots.
>>
>>34481097
This, as well as treating clothing with permethrin. Wear long pants and limit the avenues by which bugs can get into your clothing.

First be a man and wear long pants. IDGAF how hot it is. Second get some of this shit:

https://www.amazon.com/Permethrin-SFR-32-oz-Bottle/dp/B003IMO3I2

Mix 1.7ounces to a gallon of water. Immerse your field clothes including socks, gloves, hats etc. Hang to dry. Enjoy 45days of no ticks, chiggers or any other fucking thing. Also you can put any remaining mixed solution in a spray bottle and treat damn near anything you like.
>>
>>34481123
I was wearing thick jeans and boots with long socks. Had to walk through a lot of briars
>>34481112
Did not remember to tuck them though

Not from chiggerland so not sure if its the same but my legs are virtually tick proof when out and about:

I use SPOSN gorka pants which have a second inner tube coming from near the base of ther pant legs which goes snug against your ankles and has straps which wrap under your feet inside your boots which hold them down in place... so for a tick to get me it needs to go up into my boot, down to the top of my foot and under the inner sleeve up to my leg which... is covered with a 1st layer synthetic pair of full length underpants which are tucked into my socks! so it can either go up to my abdomen where a belt is creating a decent seal between my outer and under pants and under shirt which is tucked in the under pants - or back down again inside the sock to get to my ankles

basically the only parts of my body with crawl-in access to my sweet man flesh are the collar and to some extent the sleeves
>>
>>34481085
Dryer sheets in pockets. Also rub legs with dryer sheets.

>>
>>34481208
I first got Gorka 4 from BARS which doesn't have the inner sleeve at the ankles for me! (but does have a foot strap/stirrup?) the pair i wear most now is Gorka E with Autumn Partisan from SSO/SPOSN

Gold bond powder. Tough old balls use the green container. Young weak balls use the yellow. If you're gonna be out for more than a day then you also need baby wipes and a re-application of powder.

I use that as a generic space spray for killing bugs... The concentration you suggest for clothes seems a little high... I'd probably go down to the livestock application dilution. We use this dog spray stuff from tractor supply for riparian field work. It keeps mosquito away too...
>>
>>34482060
I really need to get some of that spray.. We wear waders all day and it gets pretty bad once it hits 100...
>>
>>34482187
Your right I brainfarted... use .7ounces to one gallon. NOT 1.7!
>>
>>34482304
Also keep your cats away from the wet liquid. It's fine once it has dried but toxic to kittehs as a liquid.

You made me go look this shit up. You were right the first time. 1 and 2/3 Oz of 36.8& solution in a gallon is .5% which is the same concentration as the sawyer brand pre-mixed spray. So 1.7oz to a gallon is spot on for treating clothes.

get some powdered sulphur and dump it in an old sock. store it in a plastic bag. take it out and dust your shoes and pants below the knee.

you will never be bothered by them again and you don't have to spray carcinogens on your clothes. google deet.

Put clear nail polish on chigger bites. Works amazingly well. Has to be clear.

>>34481085
Before you go venture innawoods, like a Rhodesian cuck, spray-on suncreen then dab food grade DE om your body just avoid ears, eyes, nose. MAKE SURE IT IS FOOD GRADE. Then, dab some in your socks and shoes. Fuck Chiggers -- also make sure they are not actually digging or latching on to you. I would go see a dermatologist and or buy some Dimantoysleidozcide or w/e they call it off the deep-web, etc. Oh and for the itch get hydrocortisone or aloe vera.

>>34481123
This shit also causes 9 kinds of Cancer, so I wouldn't put it on my skin

Avon Skin-so-soft does the same thing and is non toxic
>>
For prevention, I agree with the sulphur powder. It keeps everything away. For treatment, I use rubbing alcohol applied liberally to the area.

According to Les Stroud, you just get bitten so fucking much that you build up an immunity and you stop getting inflammation from the bug bites.
Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, but at least it doesn't get itchy as fuck.
That guy was doing it for decades though.
>>
I put deodorant on mine. I remember reading that it's the contact with air that cause the irritation and something like that to keep the bite from breathing keeps it from itching. Also wear boxers or no underwear at all as they like getting where clothes hug you tight it seems, so if you're wearing briefs your groin will get bitten up. Make them settle for your socks. That shit all works for me at least.

Wear proper clothes (like Gorka), spray your open body parts.

i appreciate this thread. As an immigrant from a white country without ticks, we went to my buddy's lakehouse over july 4th for boating/hiking/kayaking and i've never really even had to bother about ticks, or even heard of chiggers before then (they sound like niggers so must be bad), so taking heed of the advice for products in this bredd. Also, are those mesh oversuits just a meme or useful? ticks are freeloading communists tee bee H.
