Alright /k.
The gunshow is next weekend, and Op
Is in the market for a SHTF rifle.
Looking for either a WASR in 7.62,
Or a quadrail ar15 in 556.

Which rifle is the best option, and which round is more liable to do the most damage to starving, neighborhood looting scum?

OK, I'll throw myself on the grenade.

>WASR
Shit rifle with shit specs in a decent caliber but with such shitty specs that it can't handle true SHTF situations.

>AR
Mediocre rifle with such tight specs that it can't survive without regular depot-level maintenance and with shitty ammo that is not suitable for SHTF scenarios.

What you want is Either a VEPR or an SKS. Both are tough and with specs that fall into the appropriate ranges to remain functional with out armorer/gunsmith support and the ammo can be reloaded with black powder (good luck making/finding guncotton or cordite innawoods).

Alternatively, consider an extremely simple and rugged autoloader chambered in .30-06.

Interesting. I never though about autoloaded 30-06.

Also, I was under the impression WASRS were some of the toughest. (IF assembled and cared for with extreme detail)

Ive seen some WASRS run over by a cargo truck, then get dropped on the charging handle, only to fire while pretty crooked, while some arsenals failed the test.

You aren't talking about the Gun Show in Del Mar are you?

Because that gunshow is cheeks and should be avoided.

If you consider taking the BCG apart every few thousand rounds "Depot level maintenance" then perhaps it is best you stick with slav shit

Also lol at this capcha

You live in the US? Get an AR

Reliable, modular, accurate and light weight.

Ammo is every where, parts are everywhere, accessories are everywhere.

>>34481597
>calls WASRs and ARs shit for SHTF
>suggests a SKS instead
Did your mother have any kids that lived?

Thats what I originally figured.
AR is buttfuck everywhere in the US but heres what deters me
>98% of the ammo you find is FMJ
>the bullet is puny. I realistically want a rifle that will cause mass ammounts of damage from one shot. Also fragmentation is not guaranteed, and bullets can deflect off of FUCKING GRASS BLADES.
> also Nothing scares me more than when you hit something and it runs off wounded, only waiting to return some lead
> added bonus of lasers, optics, and lights.

However AK platform has
>larger rounds
>more ammo variety
>can be more durable in certian situations

Is the 556 more of a liability? If I shoot something, I want it to drop and stay down. Not this "have 2 of his buddies drag him from the battlefield" bullshit.

>>34482464
>7.62x39
>more ammo variety
Holy shit you are retarded.
>>
>>34482591
In terms of availability you sandy twat

In shtf youre only going to be finding FMJ BECAUSE ITS FUCKING EVERYWHERE.

I'm sorry but 5.56/.223 is a trillion times more common than 7.62x39

No you mother fuckers

Exotic ammo such as Soft point and hollow point is much more common in 7.62x39 than 556.

Ffs go back and re read. No way 7.62 is more common in US
