I started with a shop magnet from work that they were throwing away. It would pick up pocket knives and pliers and stuff but you gotta up your power to get the good shit

I've got a 150lb draw magnet oh nylon cord with the top of a dr pepper bottle over it as a sleeve to keep it from getting hung up
