Why do Brits still use the SA80 for their men?
Despite the numerous problems this rifle had during it's service and even the complaints from the people using it, why is still on the shelf till 2025?
>>34434571
They don't want to pay to replace them yet?
>>34434571
>confirmed for not knowing the extensive work that went into fixing it's problems
>>34434571
all the problems were fixed by HK except for the weight and shit balance.
>>34434571
Because it's a pretty solid platform now. It was a shit heap for a while, but they've had it fixed and revamped a few times now.
>>34434571
Because it works, now.
We pumped far too much money into fixing it to just get rid of it now, and nothing performs well enough versus the investment into/performance of the A2 to justify changing.

Why do Americans still use the M16 for their men?
Despite the numerous problems this rifle had during it's service and even the complaints from the people using it,
why is still on the shelf till 2100?
>>34434571
Same reason you made this thread, brown people.
>>34434689
Because it doesn't knock your teeth out if you're left handed
Because you don't need three arms to reload quickly
Because it's hot
>>34434689
All right calm down Muhammad, don't get defensive when we talk about the UK. The M16's problem was the ammunition at the time and the belief that it didn't needed cleaning. Compared to the SA80's launch, it performed marginally better.
>>34434571
Can't afford to, it works well now, plus MOD are probably waiting to see what the US does next. Don't want to adopt a rifle that uses one cartridge, only for America (NATO) to adopt something new a few years later.
>>34434571
because its a good rifle.
Its now reliable, rugged, and just good all round
It's always been accurate with a < 1.0 MOA, name me one other 5.56 rifle (beside the sig 550) that can hit a 1foot target at 600m.
On paper it looks hefty, but it really isn't, about a third of the weight is in your shoulder, leaving the remaining 3rds in each hand.
The only people who moan about it are people who are butthurt that they'll never own one, and REMFs because they don't get given anything else.
>Inb4 lefty, ergonomics and muh speed reloads
Lefties you're fucking mutants, besides our army teaches to shoot right hand only, if you want to shoot lefty you get minimi.
Ergonomics, you've probably never held one
Speed reloads can be done just as well if you practice
>>34434714
Are you a dirty ESL?
>>34434758
No I'm an born in raised in england.com.
>>34434571
All rifles in service of different countries have problems, so what?
>>34434571
What grenade launcher is this? AG36? Fuck they all look so similar
>>34434750
>muh lefties are mutants
Enjoy being shot as you present a larger target around the corner shot faggot. It's called getting good. Not limiting yourself.
>>34434979
There's this thing called "leaning"
You can do it without transitioning to the other hand.
besides you should only shoot on the other hand at extreme close range, and thats why they use a high up backup Reflex sight and LLM.

>>34434750
12" target at 600y is actually 2 moa, but if you're keeping that over a 10 round string, yeah, that's a pretty damn good service rifle.
>>34434948
Modified to fit the SA80, yep.
>>34434732
>>34434741
And if you look on your left, you'll see retards not getting the joke
The brits would rather be invaded and taken over before they give any more money to gun manufacturers.

What is accuracy international?
What is radway green?

Don't forget holland and holland
>>34434571
>Why do Brits still use the SA80 for their men?
There is no harm in keeping it.
>>34434634
Platform
Your opinion has been discarded.
>>34435795
>platform
Is this a new trigger word? I always thought that's just what nerdy design types called modable rifles
>>34434618
Brits on full defense
>>34435630
"Joke"
>>34435584
Um, this?
>>34434571
>Why do Brits still use the SA80 for their men?
Because they fixed most of its problems and, just like with many other countries, no one wants to replace their service rifle unless it's clearly falling behind the rest of the world, or if the rifles themselves are falling apart from wear and tear.
Infantry rifles have pretty much hit a technological plateau for the time being - anything that gives a significant advantage (e.g. caseless/polymer rounds, tracking assist, electric ignition, to name a few) would be too costly to implement, too unreliable, or involve too much change at once.

Brits pushed back the 2025 decommissioning date to a new undisclosed date after the unveiling of the L85A3

what's life like in the united cucks of new africa, jamel?
>>34434571
Because they're poor.
Also, A2 was just outsourced to a competent manufacturer. It's still the same fucking gun, just without some of the British stupidity.
>>34436250
Hey, don't look at me, I won't disagree.
>>34436146
>M16s were shit once
>got their shit together
'Burgers on full defence'
It's not bad enough to warrant a replacement. Remember all the shit about the M4?
>>34438317
>Let's tell everybody they're getting made redundant after this!
To this day I have no idea if this is actually what went down, but I wouldn't put it past us.
>>34435051
The technique you posted in the video still exposes you about as much as keeping the rifle on your right shoulder
>>34434571
Small arms in general are not as important as everyone thinks, Its not worth the money to replace it yet,
As a former britbong i would love to own an sa-80.
>>34435795
Could you repeat that in English please? I don't speak nigger.
>>34434571
well
they spent money developing it
and then to fix it
it's sorta like buying a car and burning it out one day even though you spent other people's money to buy it and it still ran cuz you spent more of their money to keep it going
>>34436137
correct.
he's just very autistic because guns
