Oh fuck, anon, I almost forgot, I put like 40-50 rounds through the 6.5 today too, you said you wanted a real report on it

It's nice, lil louder and a bit snappier than 5.56, but obviously a lot less then 7.62 also, probably closer to 5.56 on the middle ground for felt recoil. I could magdump with the colt 20 no issue too, so down-loaded 5.56 mags should be gtg

>>
>>34429463
Suppressor companies maxed out their production capacity in the run up to the 41F rule change last year. The market has since collapsed, I'm sure Gemtech was a bargain, comparatively.

Eventually demand will return and the value of Gemtech will return to where it was before the 41F rule change announcement, or if the HPA act gets passed, suppressor demand will explode again, and permanently.

Either way, it's a pretty decent bet, if you've got the chips to place it.

I've been wanting to try one out, specifically now the closed tine. I've got a half ass block II I need a muzzle device for and was thinking about giving one a try.

I heard the regular Warcomp kind of pushed your muzzle to the side.

So far it feels good during rapid fire. I've only shot it at 70 yards so far so I cannot comment upon accuracy issues.

Regarding night, haven't tried it yet. I typically shoot with my suppressor at night though. Haven't tried it with NV yet either. I've only done 750 rounds on it thus far.

No, it came dimpled for a three-screw gas block but mine is a two screw block so only one lines up. Larue Stealth. Silencerco Specwar 556.
>>
>>34429780
Dimpling a barrel would be a good idea if you have a URX4, it's already annoying enough to stick a gas block in there without having to figure out alignment

>3 cases in the air, bottom right of the pic

More shooting to be honest brother. For some people it can just take time. I find that focusing on my target, SA while firing and rifle control keeps my attention away from the flash/muzzle blast and helps me not blink/flinch.

>>34429803
Interesting, I'll start looking around for some accuracy reports. I'm not married to any product and given good info will gladly dump one for another.
>>
>>34429835
What's the quality like? Also, do you have a pencil barrel to compare it too? I'm torn between a Faxon gunner or a BA pencil, and if the gunner is the superior profile, I have no qualms towards getting it.

I'm pretty new to this stuff so take with a grain of salt. Only been doing it a little over a year. With that being said I like it quite a bit. Much better than than a viper PST and an accupower imo. The "true" 1x w dot does well, doesn't wash out in the bright sun. Glass is good. My only gripe is the Illumination turrets are a little mushy.

I could be wrong but it seems like I read that it has the same quality of glass as the 1-5 but not the same turrets. Regardless, the turrets even if they aren't as nice still feel good to me. But again, I'm a newb.

I definitely wouldn't hesitate to buy again and at the price point I don't anything else comes close. I'd put it up against any LPVO under $1000 probably

I haven't had a jizzley so I don't know those but they LOOK uncomfortable because of the cross shape, instead of a nice octagon like URX4.

URX4 is relatively light, the size is a little bigger than most skinny octagons (BCM, DD, MI, etc) but not fuckhueg like a quad rail. The finish seems to be pretty tough, I see no bare aluminum yet but I don't fap around innawoods with guns like some do. The finish is very very fine, pic related. Installation is annoying and stressful, but at least you only have to do it once (probably).

I will say that KAC has not adhered to M-Lok spec as far as wall thickness goes; I had a KDG Kinekt QD segment which would not snap tightly on because the URX4 was 0.0045" too thin. I spoke to KDG about it and of course they can't alter the design for thinner handguards. I spoke to KAC but that was a one sides hollar down an empty hallway so I was SOL and had to return the Kinekt. I think KAC just took their Keymod rail and cut it for M-Lok instead, without altering wall thickness to follow suit.

What about light weight optics like the Steiner 1-4x or the Trijicon 1-4x options? My XTR II is 21 ounces. That goes down to 14 with the Trijicon tritium option, and about 16-17 with the Steiner and Trijicon battery options.

Obviously the technology will get lighter with time, and I could get even lighter if I went to an Aero lightweight mount. I haven't done that because I don't think I am willing to give up my BUIS yet.

Reticles aren't really bright enough. They are not dim, but bright is a stretch. All memeing aside, optically they are totally fine, but the reticle brightness is what makes the best lpvo the best.

What we need is a 1-6/8/10, weighs in at 14-16oz, second focal plane (brighter reticles, reticle ranging and consistent standoffs is dildos on an lpvo), that has at least a center dot that's as bright as an aimpoint at like 8 at least. Battery life would be nice too.

My XTR II is 1-5 and has one of the brightest etched reticles you can get.

I would be willing to give up 1x of magnification for a light weight, rugged, and well illuminated 1-4 that has an eyebox as generous as the XTR- II. The XTR II has a very forgiving eyebox and at 1x feels exactly like a red dot and is one of the reasons that I chose it.

I actually don't mind the battery life being only like 40 hours or whatever if the reticle is etched. I like having the illumination, but if my battery is dead and I lost the spare in my grip, well then shit I still have a reticle.

And I want to see the weight keep going down on 1-6s. More magnification isn't bad but 1-6 is really what I want on a 5.56 rifle. Obviously with the weight reductions in 1-6s then 1-8s won't be far behind.

I don't like A2s for "every day rifle" because I think the civilian market is smarter than a government profile barrel, I don't like a finger groove grip, I like aftermarket trigger guards, and I fit an A1 length or MOE length stock better, but I do like A2 sights. If you like A2 furniture and government profile barrels though, by all means, make an A2.

Thing is, an A2 is a cheap rifle to build, especially if you aren't worried about roll marks. You can meet the A2 milspec for under 500 if you pay to have someone taper pin your FSB instead of buying the tools to DIY it.

If you've got a can, I'd do a dissipator, cans on 20 inch guns are kinda annoying.

But either way, you can fit a .22 LR clone of your 5.56 upper into the budget, and I do recommend that.

Idk why but there's something so pure about a standard ar with magpul furniture. I really like this
>>
>>34430987
thats actually really cool.
>>
Convince me not to build a stupid cheap PSA from their current sale. I have no outlying need for an AR but I feel like I'm gonna kick myself for not getting one when they cost this little.
>>
>>34431057
I'm gonna put something up in your ass that doesn't belong there.
>>
>>34431105
You'll get you CC info stolen.
>>
>>34431066
Thanks, I think there's something to be said for keeping things simple. I've seen some really clean/utilitarian builds with free float rails also though, like some of the guys here with Larue quads.
>>
>>34431073
It has some history too.

Less is more sometimes. I have a massive internal struggle with building another rifle the way yours is set up vs another free float

It's the only thing left to do on my Glock, short of getting the slide milled.

I don't really have a use for the light anyway; I already have half a dozen surefires.

Theirs also an offset for 25 on a FB group but the guy cant ship till the 10th of this month.

How hard were those Noveske rail covers to put on? They look nice but they dont make them in gray, I think i might try to find a set of gray railscales or VZ grips.

He seems very impressionable.

FYI A2 is a spook (aside from being a spooky skeleton) and is grooming wgws to be a CIA jew terrorist.

No

He likes to learn and hes a decent person to hang out with, a good shooting buddy.

>>34431745
That doesn't surprise me either, A2 has always seemed a little off. Tbh though I had him pegged for ATF trolling known gun boards for signs of organized illegal stuff.
>>
>>34431759
He's been planting seditious ideas in FA and wgws to get something going and trying to get stuff going among /arg/. It's all a ploy.

Well that may be, but I was referring to the general contempt expressed for people following NFA rules and correctly using pistol braces etc., basically goading people into breaking the law.

To have more Ruby Ridges and further cement seditious thoughts and feelings. Basically if you're following the law and being a good citizen then he isn't doing his job. Go watch Sicario, but imagine all of the happenings are on the US side, including the stirring of the hornets nest.
