I'm looking for a good scope for my 10/22.
What is the best bang for my buck?

Here are some of my recommendations

I have a Marlin Model 60 and I just used an airsoft scope before I got a scope actually meant for use on real rifles.

Do you think the 4-12x40 is overkill for the .22?
>>

I personally like 3-9x on my .22s
>>
I bought a Nikon P-rimfire for mine, and I've been happy with it.

A lot of people give rave reviews to these 30 dollar range scopes, I worry if I don't invest in one its going to be garbage.

Will I get what I pay for?

Something like a Vortex Crossfire II. I like to get an AO scope on 22 so you can more easily shoot at 25 yards and then move out to 50 or 100.

You really don't need an expensive optic for a .22 LR rifle. Sure, it'll look nice and probably won't crap out but like I said, I used an airsoft scope on my Model 60 for quite a while before I bought a real rifle scope. I have the BSA Sweet .22 in my recommendation list and I'm satisfied with it.

But it's your call, though.

you always get what you pay for. always. if get a fixed 4 or a 3x9 with at least a 32 objective, a bdc is meme tier. spend at least 80 to 100.

or don't. rings kinda matter too.

This Vortex is in 4-12x40, and a super good deal.
Think its overkill for the .22?

4-12x40 would allow you to zoom in better at 100 yards and slightly past that.

I've found that more than 6x doesn't work well under 100 yards. The swaying becomes more noticeable and screws with your head and it becomes harder to hold the reticle and the target in the same focal plane.

A red dot sight might be the best option, maybe with 2-4x.

A set of bright open sights. Take it from a pest control fag. Scopes are retarded on a .22

Imo its easier to pop squirrels at 50 yards with a scope.
