Because its not particularly accurate and is essentially a 300 yard gun with a lot of plastic parts with absolutely no resale value now or ever..I think holders of fine A1 top quality ex warsaw pack guns will see the value rise. I don;t think this will ever be true or an AR. A half decent .243 will shoot rings around an AR

It is not so much maintenece as accuracy and moving to long range. You COULD pour money into an AR to try and make a longer range one but in the end an of the shelf bolt CFR will humiliate it. There is a reason a Tikka is much more prized and holds value over some AR junk.

Is it weird that the only reason I prefer the AK (and moreso the SKS because the full auto ban resulted in stateside AKs being fucked with and less reliable in general) is because if I'm out of ammo and all else fails between the solid wood stock and the bayonet I can at least spear or club a fucker to death? That's my one reason for prefering slavgats.
