I haven't been in the AR game for a while (since around the time the URX II came out). Been mostly messing around with M1A and AK's. I gave my block 1 clone and recce-ish build to my dad several years ago...and he didn't raise no Indian giver. I was going through some old parts boxes and found a bcg, buffer, matech, lpk, etc so I figured why not and ordered a lower and an upper that psa had on sale.

What are some decent triggers? Would like a decent single stage probably. I've only ever used mil-spec and kac 2-stage.

A recent test referenced by Skeletor by Green Eye Tactical had many different optics with multiples of each. Essentially every optic outside of the eotech EXPS 3-0 / 3-2 had enormous amounts of deviation when viewed slightly off center. MRO was horrendous and the T-1 was between 3-9 MOA. Worst part was it didn't get any better at distance. The smaller optics consistently had problems.

the eotech fucking crushed that test. With very little deviation
>>
>>34417267
I look at it like this. The MRO is the only dot that doesn't starburst on me, so either more evidence comes out and I give up on dots or I keep it because no one here will use their equipment in actual combat.
>>
>>34417276
Oh absolutely no doubt the T-2 was getting closer to the eotech with deviations of between 1-5 moa depending. Not bad at all. But the eotech was a huge surprise.
>>
>>34417295
>MRO was horrendous
Strangely enough I had already figured that out on mine and wanted to go with a lower mount and move it more forward. Basically to where I'd see the dot when the rifle was squared up.

If you ask me, RMRs, T1s, T2s, ACOGs, M68s, EOtechs have all been killing baddies for a very long time. Any of them probably work fine for basically 99% of ARG.

Use whatever the fuck you want, as long as you're using it.

Also, I kind of want one of these stupid ALG mounts. For, whatever.
>>
>>34417549
I'm not L3, just an EOtech owner.

I mean come on, the rest of them use reflected-LED-onto-glass technology so they share the limitations of that technology. This is going ot manifest in similar results.

EOtechs use a hologram and lasers and shit so they're quite a bit different. I'm not saying they're better (my EOtech is suffering from delamination and I'm quite put off by them) but if there were other 'holographic' sights in the test it would probably corroborate what i'm saying.

If I recall burris had a holo sight that was basically an eotech without the metal shroud right? And vortex just released the UH-1 not so long ago. It would be nice to see those included in a future test.

Tried clearing my house with irons, RDS and LPV. Conclusion: Offset sights would be the fastest and most ergonomic (in theory since I don't have them yet).
Best to worst:
>off-set RDS (in theory)
>RDS
>Irons
>Piggyback RDS or Irons (in theory)
>LPV on 1x
Other observations. A light weight carbine is most ideal, barrel length doesn't matter too much if you have a collapsible stock. A canted rifle while moving and shooting is the fastest and smoothest. Second best would be modern shooting stance of C-clamp type grip plus a more squared up shooting stance (very smooth, good for fast pace, violent team clearing, or solo aggro). Third best is a more traditional and dynamic style where you clear corners slowly with a more bladed stance (better if you are alone or no longer have theelement of surprise).
Share your home cqb oper8ting experience.

>>
>>34418479
I have an old ass CETME (St.Albans era) that I got used from a buddy. He told me about this issue before I took it.
The problem is that the receiver and the buttstock cap do not line up properly. If I put one of the pins into place, it is visibly crooked. They have to be knocked in with a mallet in order to reassemble the gun.
What can I do about that? The holes in the receiver and the holes in the end cap are appropriately sized, but it seems like the ones in the receiver are drilled like 2mm off spec or something.

I was considering just using a dremel to take off the small amount of metal that's in the way or something. If I can find some spare pins (they don't seem to sell the right ones on apex) then I could probably just grind down one side of the pin so they'd fit.
I'm hesitant to do any gunsmithing since I have almost zero experience with metalworking.
