Why do militaries issue round nosed pistol cartridges instead of flat nosed cartridges?
round nose feeds better
Big noses fund the wars.

Idk, I've read a 30% meplat pentrates and performs better in soft tissue better and feeds just fine. Like all things military related I'm sure it has more to do with feeding the machine than actual performance. Case in point >>34412168

It's not like they couldn't just phase it out as it's being used for training. Just like with the 155mm artillery rounds that airburst to drop bomblets are switched to training purposes and still being used up.
Just because a new piece of equipment is put in service, doesn't mean the old shit can't be used.

Isn't there some kind of thing in the Geneva convention banning the use of hollow point ammo and stuff like that?
>>34418668
Yeah, but flat-nosed bullets are not hollow points
>>34411852
Because militaries don't really think a bout pistols that often.
>>34420727
US military does
>>34420796
Yeah, we've had a grand total of four standard issue pistols since 1911 (five if you count the 1911A1), and one caliber change. I don't think it's a big deal.
