Is it weird to want to carry a full size handgun like a 92 FS or CZ 75?
I'm buying my CCW soon™ and my instructors have all told me to get a Glock 19 but the big sexy metal guns appeal to me. I've held them all and honestly the 92 is a bit big but I can handle it, the CZ 75 is wonderful, but the G19 would obviously carry a whole lot easier.
Am I just being retarded? Is there any practical reason to follow my meme dream supreme?
>>
>>34403931
Split the difference. Get a PX4 Compact Carry.
>>
Holster and belt selection is really going to be key. It is doable to carry such guns, people carry 1911s all the time. Thing is, you won't really get any benefit performance wise when guns like the G19, PX4 and P07 exist. Holding a gun in your hand is one thing, but having it on you for an upwards of 12 hours a day, 7 days a week all year long may be a bit tiring to some people. I would say try it out, getting a JM Custom holster as they're top notch compared to other companies and see if you like it.

>>34404170
The Compact Carry is fucking superb. It is nearly the size and weight of a Glock 19 yet it shoots just like a fullsize pistol. I stopped carrying mine in favor of a G19 because the Glock is slightly thinner in width and I can use fiber optics on it. In my opinion, it is the logical thing to carry if one likes the Beretta M9 series but wants something more concealable.
>>
Yes, OP, you are retarded.
On paper there's absolutely nothing wrong with carrying a large gun. It's completely doable.

But think about it, it's something you're ostensibly going to be carting around on your hip every day. Steel guns are heavy, and you'll find yourself sick of the discomfort very quickly.

I used to carry a cz75 and a makarov myself. Try it out for a while, you'll figure out what you're comfortable with. Go from there.
>>
>>34403931
Get a compact 75 or a P-01, then, dumbass
>>
You will be carrying those guns for a week or less, then leave them in your drawer for the next thirty years. Where eventually one of your kids will find it and blow his own head off with it.

It depends on your size, if you're a big guy it should be fine. I've actually been considering using a crye gun clip facing straight downward in a shoulder rig so I can carry with a suppressor.

You could try one of the new m92 compacts, they are smaller than the regular ones, if only slightly. They still retain all the same controls, etc.

I figure as long as I balance out the other side with equal weight it shouldn't be any worse then an lbe so I want to make a custom kydex mag holder like pic pleated but mold a bump into it and make a cut so it can flex to engage the notch on the magazine. That way I could carry the rig upside down and have a pair of 33 rd glock magazines hanging downward that I can simply pull straight out.
>>
From my experience, no, it's not weird at all. Who wouldn't want to carry the most effective gun on their person? However, you'll soon realize that it gets old after the novelty factor wears thin. You are much better off getting a gun you know you can and will carry all the time, even if it's just a quick trip to the store or to take the garbage out.

Glock 19 is the gold standard. I prefer to save a couple of oz and go the G26 route, but even then I find myself carrying a G42 most of the time.

>G42 17 oz Loaded
>G19 32 oz Loaded
>M1911 45 oz Loaded

6'3 fucker here

If you can comfortable conceal (if necessary) and carry the gun the entire day, then go for it.
I have a g19 and right now prefer to carry my 92a1.
Much of the comfort will depend on the holster you land up with and how you carry
>>
I CC a G20 so no
>>
>>34405791
Your choice in holsters reflects a lack of importance to you regarding such a matter as significant as carrying a weapon. Its like a guy who drives a Lada telling a Ferrari owner how to drive his car.

>>34406860

I won't judge your perverse desires, anon. I carry my 92 Vertec every day. 18+1 AIWB with one 20 round reload is overkill for just about anything, but it makes me smile. Follow your joy.

get a small polymer gun that is lightweight and easy to hide

A 92 compact isn't exactly small, it's the same dimension of a HiPower if I remember correctly

you will say this until you actually carry for a little while and realize that it is retarded to carry that much weight inside your belt

even the G19 is pushing it when fully loaded IMO

6' 180lbs. I've carried a 92fs for two years now. I rotate between 92fs and m&p shield, I find myself carrying the 92fs more often. I have a thick leather gun belt, so carrying a full size and all of my EDC items isn't hard for me. What works for me might not work for you.

>>
>>34403931
Definitely go compact. Service pistols aren't meant to be cced on a daily basis. They quickly become uncomfortable and since you aren't required to carry you'll pretty soon be leaving it at home.
>>
6'2, 180, am I a delusional faggot for wanting to carry a full-size p 320 or otherwise?

I live in a state where a jacket makes send 8 months a year, so shoulder holster potential is there, but adds to fag quotient.

Carry a 92 with an alien gear IWB everyday. 6' 200 lbs. Most Saturday night specials are heavier than a Beretta, the frame is aluminum. Dont get the fucking CZ reddit meme gun.
>>
>>34403931

Former carry guns was 92FS (Full and Compact), M9A1 (Full and Compact), Sig P229, M&P (full and compact), CZ-75B, and Glocks from the 34 to the 43.

You absolutely need a real gun belt and a quality holster for all day carry. With good gear, you can easily carry for 12+ hours a day. I highly recommend the MTAC or Crossbreed style for larger guns, and kydex for smaller.

Still, I carry the Glock 43 almost exclusively because it is so easy to carry, and I shoot it well.

I did that for a while. Try timing yourself with a mag in a change pocket. I am right-handed, so it is kind of a cross draw, but it is faster than hunting I'm my pocket for a reload.

I do reload drills from the pocket, it's not the fastest reload but it works for now. I'm getting a mag holster very soon, so that should speed up my reload significantly. Sweet vertec btw.
>>
Can anyone recommend a good holster for PX4 compact? I'm 6'2" if that helps. Considering Blade Tech or Alien Gear but hear mixed things about Alien Gear.
>>
>>34409478
The alien gear is like $40. Less than what you'd spend on ammo for a range day. If it sucks for you just throw it in the drawer with all the shitty nylon holsters you bought that no one will ever know about. You can always send the shell back and try again for free when you get a different gun.
>>
>>34405791

Not really and it's completely doable. I've carried a few full size guns concealed and many other people do as well. With a good belt, holster, and wardrobe choices it isn't much of a problem tbqh. As far as im concerned anything bigger than a sub compact single stack 9 is something that im going to be constantly aware of. Heavier guns don't hurt unless you carry them wrong or something. Frankly i find the weight reassuring(no nervously checking it's still there), im more accurate/fast with a full size, and in the worst case scenario my SP01 would make an absolutely wonderful bludgeon if i went and affixed it to the end of a stick or something.

I find appendix works best for reliably hiding a full size but that's just me.
>>
>>34409478
Alien gear rhymes with meh tier for a reason anon. That being said their shell exchange program is pretty nice if you carry multiple different guns depending on occasion and are on a budget.

Blade tech is pretty meh too.

Personally im a big fan of garrett industries and clinger holsters but that's just me. I've got an MTAC that i picked up in a trade that is pretty alright too. What position are you planning on carrying in?

Your best bet is a good old cz 75b because the slide tapers and is thin. It won't be too uncomfortable to carry. I know for sure it's more comfy than a 226/229. I have not, however, carried a Beretta of any kind.

If you have large hands, the 75b, p226 and 92 will feel better and be nicer shooting. If you have more average to Manley hands, Glock is way to go 100%.

I have large hands and own both sp-01 and Glock 19; carry Glock because comfy. A 75b (I used to have an 85), is more comfy than sp-01.

Not necessarily. But i do believe its important to have a bottom line when it comes to equipment that your life might depend on.
