What happened to the semi auto carbines?
ruger used to make em. But all you can get now are these fucking leverguns?
I think theres a good market for them, hunting deer, hogs. and possibly bear defence.
44 mag is like the perfect calibre for hunting deer short range
Because ARs exist in every caliber
There is no real benefit for a 16 inch 44 mag over a ten inch and the NFA is a bitch
7.26x39 costs 20 cents a round and can take a durr just fine.
Also for hunting, in my state depending on game, I'm limited to 3 rounds and wish someone made a 3 round mag for the k31.
>>34395111
Fucking hunting mag limits. There is not a stupider thing in all firearms law, and that's saying something.
>>34395111
Can't you have a gunsmith 'manufacture' one by pinning and welding an existing mag?
>>34395130
Honestly its not worth it. Just dont lie, honestly only have 3 rounds and the DNR people will be pretty down to earth. They're not looking to fuck you over. I remember when I was living in AZ and they passed a law saying you can only hunt with one gun...well they flat out said if you have a rifle and a pistol they will not enforce that law.
Mainly not enough demand. Also most of the guys who love rimmed cartridges already reload. And semi-autos are harder on brass than lever actions.
Especially since Kel-tec came up with a good way to have high capacity mags in rimmed cartridges I'd be very interested in these. 30 rounds of 44 mag (or even 357) on tap would be lovely.
I wouldn't mind my 10/22 having a big sister.
>>34395632
Ruger police carbine.
>>34395678
The Marlin Camp Carbines are prettier if I want something in 9. Or the newer PCC that don't have proprietary mags. I even saw a Marlin modded to take Glock mags once.
The only way that would edge out the competition was if it was in .357 mag, .44 mag, or 45 LC
>>34395712
I'd go camp as well but the police carbines are patterned after the 10/22 so you're not getting closer to a 'bigger 10/22'. I guess it depends on how close you want it to your 10/22 or if you ok with just any blowback PCC with a wood stock and fits the collection.
Kind of wanted one of these for my first rifle, couldn't find one for a decent price so I got an AR.
I still want one. They look fucking cool. They have a much lower profile and could be more easily thrown in a truck or in a closet somewhere.
and fuck it they just look cool. If gun companies didn't stop making revolvers once semi autos became more entrenched why do they need to stop making stuff like this because "HURRR GET AN AR"
>>34394836
IDK the reason why, put it's pretty fucking gay.
Fudd PCCs are my exact fetish.
>>34395899
I think having an intermediate cartridge between a pistol caliber and 5.56 would be really good for a home defense long gun too. 5.56 is a little more than you need for an HD situation and would kill your hearing instantly.
Wish someone would start making decent quality M1 Carbine repros
>>34395827
Revolvers with fuck huge rimmed cartridges dont go out of battery when you press them against someones head during sex.
>>34395962
wat
>>34395961
Inland and Kahr
>>34395111
cant you just load the 44 with slower powders or something?
anyways. the fucking leverguns still exist, and they somehow manages to be pretty heavy too.
>>34395961
basically this, a more modern m1 carbine, about the same size and weight with more caliber options.
using aluminum recievers and notwood, adjustable or self regulating gas block for silencers, and closed action with sight mounts. you could get a real fucking light and handy carbine.
also slow and hravy is best for getting meat out of things you eat. and heavy as fuck subsonic is a joy to shoot
IIRC, CanadaAmmo is getting some M1 Carbines made in 7.62x25, though I don't think you could import them into the US because CHY-NA.
>>34396273
Means you dont need a stand off device and is the reason la swat requested smith to make the r8.
>>34396379
Wasnt that because of moving slides + shield = jam?
more than uncle swat jamming his glock during sex?
>>34396392
Yup, and saying revolvers dont fill a role is just as inane as putting a loaded gun to someones head.
>>34396416
well yeah, thats kinda his point, semi pistol caliber carbines also fill a role, but no one fucking makes em
>>34396424
AR
JRC
Aero
Sub 2000
hi point
Glock 'n stock
Beretta
Ya, no one makes one with wood furniture.
>>34396453
>muh magnum and high power ammo
>>34396453
you cant hunt much with 9mm, or even 10mm can you?
>>34396556
9mm will drop a whitetail at 75 yards as long as your shot placement is decent.
It's not ideal, but it can definitely be done.
a carbine with a 30 carbine magnum cartridge, or a 44 mag rimless, would be rad as fuck.
maybe should rebuild a mini to shoot rimless 357 max?
>>34396556
Depends on what you're hunting I suppose. But if I need to hunt with a rifle, and can only have 3 rounds no reason to carry pistol round when I can use 270 or 30-06 or 308. Hell, 556 is a good coues deer round.
>>34396589
>.357 MAX
[Worried laughter]
>>34396598
308, 30-06 and the larger heavier calibers, works, especially long range.
but 556 is a piss poor deer round, unless you reload low velocity rounds with 222 rem bullets. especially here in norway when we only get shitty varmint bullets for 223. they fuck up the meat way to much.
my best experience shooting deer is with mild 8mm mauser and 44 mag from a lever gun, makes a big clean hole without exploding the damn animal.
but the 3 rounds hunting rule fucks you up I guess.
>>34396627
imagine that shit in a m1 carbine sized gun
>>34396589
>>34396627
>>34397166
This shit is giving me some ideas
>>34397111
Its really not a bad choice and you have to hike, shoot across a canyon and hit something that weighs 100 pounds.
>>34397293
*if
>>34396589
They need to make a deerfield carbine in .357 magnum.
>>34397364
Mini 14 + new 357 barrel + 357 X 223 wildcat.
and there you have it
44/30-06 or 44/308 would be sex in a carbine
>>34397387
Hmm, someone oughta try that.
>>34397661
Goddamn it's a .44AMP on crack!
>>34397790
I guess the problem with a 44/357, (straight walled cartridge) mag in a mini 14 is that you most likely will need a new mag to feed properly.
>>34397914
You're rebarreling the thing anyway though.
