Ah. I don't blame you wanting to leave, then. Though Canada's situation is somewhat tenuous right now. I would wait until after the 2019 election to see whether we're going to unfuck ourselves or not.

As for gun laws in Canada for non-citizens, as long as you can get a letter of good standing from your local police, then you can get a firearm license no problem. It can take a few months, but you'll have a much larger selection than in Oz.

VZ58's are pretty nice, but the prices are going up.

Its kinda expensive and touristy. Im sure if i spent more time there and had more money to blow it woulda been better but alas backpacking. Hungary was great though, the people are assholes just like my native new jersey, publiv transport was like the old rickety rollercoasters for young children at run down fairs, and the beer n food was super cheap. Not to mention the sometimes glorious, sometimes hilarious mixture of soviet and baroque architecture everywhere
>>
>>34385803
Well to get permit not hard.
Visit doctor - confirmed u r not psycho.
Visit your distinct police station - pay fee (little under 200$), get a exam date.
Go to exam - do a legal, weapon knowledge and first aid paper test. Do safety manipulation, shooting and cleaning test.

If u pass u can shop all u wanna, excpet full auto for which u need extra permit (vz58 is around 450$ atm).

This "2nd amendment" is only to protect gun owners from EU gun grabing

If you're going to move to the US you're welcome to stay indefinitely. Contrary to the way the media portrays our politics most of us are rather friendly to immigrants, particularly legal ones with skills or who want education. Being an Australian you of course have the extra advantage of being a white Anglo so you won't get funny stares until after you open your mouth. I'm only very familiar with universities, but though a lot of scholarships require US citizenship or permanent residency, there are many that do not. I'd assume there would be similar programs at trade schools, though to what degree I can't say. Of course, an apprenticeship can be mostly free, depending on how well you work and your grades.

If you do move here though I'd advise against studying to be a machinist, unless it's something you really want to do. The pay isn't that great and demand isn't as stupidly high as it was a few years ago. The cost of living in the US is highly variable so I suggest looking into that before deciding on a location. It's a pretty big decision so you should have a several-year plan before actually doing anything.

Never leave your country unless your fucking rich and you don't need to work, or highly-qualified and successful (surgeon, scientist, IT-genius, famous artist...). If your skills are low, there will be locals who'll do the same work for cheaper. People aren't going to employ you just because you're an expat.

Guns are a symbol of freedom. A government GIVING you guns isn't. One could argue the people start being the State's invisible militia in this case. A militia to fight "terrorism" in a country where there is a police and an army to keep things in check.

The government needs to know its place by the People. Not the other way around. Again there is an ulterior motive for the Czechs.
>>
>>34387849
Eh, flags would just exacerbate the shitposting from /pol/ migrants. This is a problem all over the world. It's just that the foundations of American society lend themselves to a small portion of American society having a critical view of the role of government. Generation has nothing to do with it. Fudds, soccermoms, Rust Belt Democrats, neocons, and neo-Nazis all share this sort of subconscious statism. It's mostly just about education and interest in political theory.

There isn't necessarily an ulterior motive. It's entirely possible the Czech legislators are is well-intentioned. However, government itself as a system expands its power on its own even if the people who compose it have good intentions. That is what people need to be aware of, not some inherent evil among politicians and over-pensioned bureaucrats.

>>
>>34387930
I never claimed that they had an ulterior motive. I'm simply stating that the government having the power period to declare one thing a right and the other not is not a good thing. It is overbearing state power that people are supposed to fear, and this is a prime example of it. If they have precedent to say that guns are a right, then that means that 40, 50 years down the line, someone else could say that they have the power to declare guns no longer a right, and most of their citizens would probably roll right the fuck over to accomodate that line of thinking.

>>34387981
You misunderstand.
If you have guns, you are for all intents and purposes, free of any control you disagree with someone having over you. It doesn't matter if someone else has more guns than you, they still have to shoot you if they want to exert any control over you you don't consent to.
Also,

>>
>>34387981
When you'll have killed all the people that think like me, you won't have a Monarchy anymore.
>>
>>34387930
I'm at a total loss why that anon is having an autism fit about this. My understanding is that constitutional law takes supremacy over any EU laws. This move secures Czech gun laws are immunized from EU fuckery. Why he's sperging over the Czech Republic protecting its sovereignty from the EU is beyond me.
>>
>>34387933
>The freaking leftist party proposed this law.
European leftists are often Marxist-influenced, and Marxism places a high value on an armed proletariat. Socialism has historically also been an avenue for populism in Europe, particularly Western European developed countries, which the Czechs, though cut off from for half a century, have historically been aligned with.

You need to understand context before trying to speak about things you only partially comprehend. Yes, government is power-hungry, and yes, it is a vehicle for its own expansion. However, the individuals who run the government can in fact have good intentions. This is especially pertinent in inherently statist societies, meaning everywhere that isn't the US.
>>

Today I've learned that I really, really hate Europe.

No, don't think so. That's what you'd think, but then if you'd leave your house you'd see most people aren't raving anarchists.

>>34388012
Honestly, the only thing I can think of is he has an actual mental problem. I'm not saying that as an insult, I really mean it. This is good news, but that doesn't fit with his worldview, so it's a conspiracy. That is how actual, legitimate, not memeing you schizophrenics act. There's no logic going into this, so you can't expect any coming out. But, that's what the government would say. Everyone knows mental illness is a label they just attach to people who see the truth, to keep them quiet, right?

>>34388029

>>34388029
You can buy full auto, silencers etc only on special permit, for example for guarding stuff that might be important for state, semi auto and short weapons on normal permit that you will get no problem unless you local police station is full of cunts and bolt action rifles, shotguns and so on are no permit and you just have to announce you bought them at the police station.
>>
>>34388067
>wether or not you accept that label is irrelevant
Except for the fact that that label is false, because an anarchist believes in not having a government, which is a concept that I disagree with. I simply think that the government exists only to keep infrastructure maintained, maintain a standing army, and enforce the will of it's people. That is not anarchy, that is a functioning government.
The overly powerful, all knowing, all powerful state that you want is not a functioning government, it is one step from tyranny.

Except for the fact that they should not have to "confirm" something as a right. If your government has the power to do that, then something is wrong.

Would you fuck off with your bullshit and either stop responding or bring out an actual argument? Calling someone something they clearly are not is not an argument, it's fucking childish.
>>
>>34388115
>If your government has the power to do that, then something is wrong.
Then who does? What is a right? If you say you have natural rights, you're a liar. The people recognize their rights through the government, which must then defend them. Is it perfect? No. But neither are people, so nothing we make can be.

If it did not codify rights and laws, the government could simply ignore them.

You're not even an idealist, you're just an idiot.
>>

>anarcho-X
You know, there are non-ideological anarchists out there who simply reject governmental institutions, and minarchists who believe in a small government with specific restrictions on powers, as well as all other sorts of non-statist political philosophies. Not everybody has to fall into one of your neat little ideological boxes. I know it makes it hard to accuse them of believing things you want them to believe but it's really not going to be conducive to your understanding of the world, or really any decent conversation at all, for you to continue with such a delusion.

Are you a capitalist? This one is up to you, but you really don't sound like a dirty commie.

What I am doesn't actually matter here.
Why do you seem to believe that anybody who does not love government intervention in their daily lives is an anarchist? Similarly, why do you seem to believe that the only two economic theories that you are ever liable to encounter are capitalism and communism?

I'm genuinely curious what has led you to this conclusion. And if I am incorrect, please explain how, as the above description seems very sound when what you have said is considered.

See, this gives the impression that you only want to name-call, and have no intention of explaining yourself. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though. For today I will be an existential nihilist. I lack any political belief because I lack a belief in concrete existence itself. Nothing matters because everything is describable only in the abstract.

Now that you know who I am, are you willing to explain yourself? Why do you appear to reject the notion that there exist people who are not on some end of an extreme, or more importantly, why must you assume that everybody is an radical of some sort? I don't much care for the argument itself; as you wanted to know about me, I'd like to know about you.

>Why do you appear to reject the notion that there exist people who are not on some end of an extreme, or more importantly, why must you assume that everybody is an radical of some sort?
It has a lot to do about the anarchist one step away from shouting about how the lizardpeople use gun ownership to rule the new world order. You are an irrational extremist, and now you're pretending to be a rational one. Again, it's not about this broad 'people' it's about you.
>I don't much care for the argument itself; as you wanted to know about me, I'd like to know about you.
I'm a boring believer in rule of law and the republic, who takes serious offense at some fuck whining that a government doing what it should for once is a bad thing. You honestly make me wish I could be a fascist, just so I could tread on you.

Now, I'd like to know why you think a state doesn't have the right to declare/recognize laws and rights, and how any government could function without that capability without descending into utter tyranny. What is to stop the government from stripping you of rights if it does not codify and recognize them in law?

In addition, I was >>34388014 and >>34387918. It's also disingenuous to assume any posts on an anonymous board have any continuity, unless they explicitly say so. To tell the truth, I am not a fan of the Westphalian concept of statehood, but I do not reject statehood or statelike apparata entirely, nor am I a communist or a devout capitalist (I do however believe in free markets and private property). I also find statutes and social agreements, preferably consensual ones, to be a mark of civilization. Two hundred years ago I might have been called a conservative liberal, and seventy years ago a libertarian. Perhaps that may appear to some to be a radical viewpoint, but beyond saying that I am a firm believer in civil society and representative administration I don't really have a way to alleviate the fears of such folks who would call me names and attack me for simply having ideas. Not that what I actually believe had anything to do with what I was saying, as previously explained.

I'm glad we were able to finally get through to each other.

>>
>>34395061

>>34395231
Keep in mind there is a difference between Marxism, meaning the ideology itself, and "Marxism," meaning "my particular application of some Marxian principles in this place where even Marx did not think communism would work" such as Marxism-Leninism. Actual Marxism was not made for undeveloped authoritarian shitholes like Russia and China. It was developed with a literate society and a high standard of living in mind, mostly with a focus on Western Europe where democratic ideals and individualism were relatively commonplace. Western European socialists tend to be align more closely to actual Marxist principles than Leninists, Stalinists and Maoists ever did. Of course, in practice even more sincere socialist governments often do take a turn towards the authoritarian. Fortunately the Western European countries never actually went full Marxist, or we'd likely have seen much more bitter and complete social and economic destruction in the first half of the last century.
>>
>>34395414
>Keep in mind there is a difference between Marxism, meaning the ideology itself, and "Marxism," meaning real life application of ideology adjusted to realities of society
Fixed.

Marxism is based on coercion. Coercion state would not tolerate resistance and naturally gravitate to authoritarian state.
>>
>>34395521
All states are based on coercion. The state itself is defined by the ability to coerce its subjects into accepting its authority. Marxism is utopian and makes certain assumptions about its target societies that have never existed in practice where it has been applied. That doesn't mean it is itself conducive to coercion as an ideology. It's somewhat of a semantic argument but there is a difference between Marxists and Marxism which needs to be acknowledged so as to not divert towards some abstract notion the responsibility for actions of individuals who should be held accountable.

It's fairly obvious that I meant Marxist forms of communism and socialism, of which there are other kinds, not all of which are revolutionary or influenced by Marxism at all, and which are often in casual conversation referred to under an umbrella term "Marxism."
