Will this even work?

I bet Russia is trolling Assad. This is shit in the Syrian landscape. Like that Tos-1 thing.

They should've bought Chinese.
>>
Yet it will do more than the entire US coalition has
>>

So basically if you manage to hit the rocket tubes and those go off, it basically becomes an instant (mission) kill? Inb4 APS will take care off all threats.

>Like that Tos-1 thing.
This remark ruined your otherwise perfect bait
>>
>>34383503
the ATGMs are pretty secondary to its function. It's supposed to support tanks in urban environments by having highly traversible auto cannons while being much harder to kill than a regular IFV

for one time in my life, i agree with that

p-p-please buy chinese. for the love of god
>>

Watching these my initial reaction is always to ask how retarded the chinese are, but then I remember that designing a suspension is actually a pretty formidable task.

Glad we have some serious talent in the US when it comes to designing hardware.
>>
>>34384869
That will not happen in Syria. Chinese tanks are known for reliability.
>>
>>34383277
Russians built like ten of these things.

I doubt they ever use them in real combat situation, they can't afford to lose such expensive equipment with current economic situation.

Don't know why they haven't got Nonas yet. A Nona/ single 23mm semi-coaxial turret would be the cheap assault gun combination, this missile approach - missiles are expensive.

Seems like SAA will use anything they can get their hands on. I've seen them commandeer militant vehicles, though that may have been either Hezbollah or some allied militia.

SAA likes to use these Shilkas as anti-infantry.
How effect are these in that regard, really?

This is universal unmanned battle module. Right now plan is to use Bumerang-BM module with 30mm cannon. Basically, T-15 can do everything BMPT can, but also carry troops and be better protected.
>>
>>34385431
> only one gun

Nice bait
>>
>>34385442

the Russian version only has one gun. There's nothing 2 could do that 1 couldn't.

It's not 1960 anymore and twin guns is actually a net negative to accuracy when computer assisted aiming gets involved.

It's also why the majority of multi-barreled machine guns don't get mass issued now. There's just too little reason unless its purely for suppressing like a Blackhawk door gunner.

Why double/triple your rate of fire on an autocannon but ruin your accuracy at the same time for little gain?
>>
>>34383277
>they couldn't find any buyers than forcing the Kazakhs to get them
>now they're trying to force the Syrians to get them

Holy shit just admit the entire concept is retarded already and is a solution looking for a problem. The only explanation at this point is some oligarch wants money after he was swindled into funding this terminator joke
>>
>>34385326
>SAA likes to use these Shilkas as anti-infantry.

It's a 4 barrel autocannon putting out 3500-4000 rounds/minute of 23mm HE and AP rounds.
It is very effective against everything not covered in armor and has an incredible effect as a area denial weapon at range.

Lolwut, you don't even know some basics of the vehicle.

Each gun carries a different kind of ammo. One is HE and the other is AP, there's a video with that shit presenter where they showed it firing the guns. The gunner can only aim 1 at a time.
>>
>>34385577
I thought the Terminator 2 dropped those.

Is this just a Terminator 2 turret fitted to the original Terminator hull?
>>
>>34385606
>57mm is just a product that company propose to buyers. Not everything that Russian companies do propose is going to service.

I'm glad someone understands this. They already tried to show off the 57mm on a BMD and were laughed out of the building after the MoD told them the ammunition load was absurdly low.
>>
>>34385719
They had 105 mm on BMD what's the difference
>>
>>34385080
>Chinese tanks are known for reliability
BY WHO???
>>
>>34385649

and at the rate they fire, it'd be better to have a single barrel firing them interchangeably like every modern nation does or via a dual feed system thats vastly more accurate and useful than 2 barrels due to it being inherently more accurate.

Double barrels are purely for nations that cannot reliably fix/produce dual feed systems and it's been that way since the late 70s.

There's literally no reason to run 2 barrels from a performance/logistics/reliability stand point.
>>
>>34385326
I would imagine it's rather vulnerable but still effective. Judging by >>34383277 it looks like Russia tried to capture the Shilka's anti-infantry magic and give it better protection

*100mm 2A70.

>what's the difference

The 57mm gun module was designed to be non intrusive of the hull and acts like an oversized RWS instead of being a proper turret with enough space for rounds which is the case with the 100mm gun with 30mm coax auto-cannon.

You think the new guy is?

Why is his SecDef Mattis talking about "Sunni allies" and threatening Iran, while bombing the Syrian government and shepherding ISIS towards Syria, rather than cooperating with the Russians in the extermination of ISIS and Nusra Front (aka "rebels")?

It's horse shit.

America does not have a foreign policy in Syria, they are merely the muscle for Israeli and Saudi foreign policy.

They did get resupplied with Nona's recently.

Russia is trying to rebuild the Syrian army into a cohesive military once again, since it has devolved into a collection of militias and gangs.

The primary difference between the BMPT and BMPT-72 is whether the hull was purpose built and has the two extra crewmen with grenade launchers.

Actually we have a pretty decent, if unspoken, plan in Syria. Keep it in a state where Russia has to keep shoveling money into it when their economy really can't afford that.
>>
>>34392117

That's just your little unqualified opinion.

You have no idea what the fuck is going on because your government conducts its actual foreign policy in secrecy due to its nefarious nature.

Ironically, Russians are more transparent.
>>
>>34392229
That's because Russia's domestic and foreign policy mostly revolves around elaborate ways to scream, "Look at me! I'm a big, important person!"

>What the hell? Terminator-1 hull with Terminator-2 turret?
Holy shit kek, you post on russiadefence and you don't know this?
A surplus of modified T-72 hulls for BMPT were used for export. Kazakhstan did not want more, so they included the export turret so if in case Syria decides to buy more, they'll use the BMPT-72 entire package instead.

Why the domestic hull? Because it's rusting in a factory and it would have a better outcome at making them sell more export versions.
>>
>>34388222
hes right tho
>>
>>34385479
you're a retard. The BMPT is basically the ideal urban fighting vehicle, and there's been a shitload of urban armour use in the syrian civil war. Highly traversible auto cannons and very thick skin are what's require, and In case you hadn't noticed, Tanks can't point their guns up, and IFVs have very thin armour.
