working mostly on the Elysium Drop Troop (40k) (its just a concept idea so far) patch idea, will probably play around with different shapes for it as im not sure that shape works best, as well as different word placements and stuff like that. I want to incorporate "Elysia" somewhere on it and maybe an Aquila, but I dont want to be too cluttered.

Just got a STALKER monolit patch.

What purpose does this white cloth backing serve? It is not sewn on, and comes off somewhat easily. Would it matter if I were to tear this off before sewing this onto something (either a gym bag or combat jacket)?

I usually deal with velcro-backed patches so for the longest time I didn't care about this.
