ITT guns you want because they're cool and make your dick hard, no matter the practicality or cost

>want a fun tactical fuddy five
>know my best bets would be a USP, HK45, or FNX
>Mk23 keeps popping up in my mind anyway
>>34381560
USPs are terrible guns.
Fuck the cost. Never compromise. Get only what you want. Load your mags the HK way.
>>34381560
Whenever I see the Mk23 posted, I kinda get the urge to sell all of my other guns and just buy one. One day I'll save up the dough and buy one.
FN five seven because i like the idea of a handgun that fires tiny rifle rounds
>>34381560
A Charleville musket. Something about that nosepiece and all the fittings in the white like that just get my dick rock hard.

It's a fun gun. Probably my most accurrate pistol next to my Springfield Armory Custom Comp Target 9mm. Soft shooting and just fun as all hell to shoot. Yes, it's expensive, it's overkill, and expensive hell, but this is definitely one of the few guns I'd go innawoods with.
Only correct answer. Handloading would be a pain though.
>>34382751
They always seem so cool but I can't think of any good reason to pick one up over a USP other than "it's a Mark 23"
>>34383396
Oh yeah don't get me wrong, for a civvy, it's very much a niche collector's piece at this point. It's overbuilt to the point of ludicrousness. (Read some of the trials it went through, crazy shit), it can fire .45 super right out of the box and has very limited accessory options.
That said, it's a comfy/stable pistol with a great trigger for a duty pistol and it's a great conversation starter at the range if nothing else.
Discontinued and people just keep jacking the price up and up and up. They average $2500 in my area. I saw one for $1500 half a year ago but didn't have the money at the time and now I really want to buy it if not just to shoot myself in the throat with it.
Why has FN forsaken the tuna gun?
MK 19
>>34383543
I sold mine a couple of years ago for about $1800. It would FTE every 10 shots or so.
>>34383543
From what I heard, people didn't like the triggers, it was too expensive, it's a bullpup, and it's kind of fat compared to other bullpups.

>Fucking Chad
>>34381887
That is a mk23, buttfucker
an Svd or a m82 Barrett would be nice or even a Boys Mk1
PTRD-41, destructive device but IDGAF
Scratch that, a DP-28 would be orgasmic to own and shoot. Ammo and mags are easy to get as well. (Why DP-28 mags are so common is beyond me)
>>34383543
>tfw I've always wanted one of these to mod it to look like an MA5B.
>or at the very least have one of Sam Fisher's guns.
>>34381560
If I was only getting one .45ACP pistol, that'd be the one.
But I'll probably pick up a 1911 someday just 'cause everyone else has them and CZ keeps putting out gloriously simplified versions that trigger my boner.
As for guns I'd want because they're cool (excluding the Mark 23), I'd have to say a genuine Colt SAA (C/R or modern, either way).

>being this noguns
I already have a 4506 boat anchor as a huge .45 gun.
On one hand, I feel like I should get something smaller to compliment my already huge gun, like a Glock 30 to go all the way to the other end with a small, blocky, boring gun.
On the other hand, I could go even bigger and more comically overbuilt with that.
Spas 12, Jurassic Park, enough said.
>>34384805
Mk23 is best boat anchor. Hell, considering how indestructible they tried to make it, it probably could be used as a boat anchor and still work.
I'll give you zero guesses why. You're right.
compensation reasons.
Knowing that I will never, ever own this pistol makes me die on the inside.

>>34385235
I kind of wish that they hadn't pussified the biathlon. When it first started out as a sport they were firing battle rifle cartridges, at respectable ranges, not they're doing 50 yard shots with 22s.
dayum shame

I honestly don't know anything about the sport. I just saw some dude watching it at work and fell in love with the gun.

glock 19 sized that fluted barrel that crown those tolerances 3k dollars RIP
>>34385166
I'm sure it's a great boat anchor of a gun, I'm just wondering if having multiple boat anchor would even be a good idea.
Though there's a used but "new" condition Mark 23 going for 1400 which seems like a good deal.
>>34385277
o-oh my
because i want a STANAG that isn't a AR, no matter if it can't claim any objective superiority
>>34386600
Damn that's a really solid deal. like I said, that thing can take some serious abuse. check the barrel to be sure it's not completely shot out, but that is a steal for a MK23 that hasn't been dipped in saltwater or something crazy every day.
>>34381983
I have both a Charleville and a Brown Bess. The Bess is easier to work on, but the Charleville is way more aesthetic, and joyful to handle.

Don't forget to coat them with teflon so they'll slip through the arm or even more effectively.

James Purdey & Sons. Sidelock Ejector 12 Gauge. Gold Inlaid by Ken Hunt.
Hand fitted to my arm measurements of course.
I used to be a die hard 1911fag, but now I don't really care much. I prefer practicality over aesthetics these days.

Stainless steel minis are pure sex and I would love a stainless AC556 for giggles.
That or a scaled down T25 in 5.56 like what H&R would have done if they hadn't died.
>>34388989
Unfortunately it's an online thing so I can't inspect it in person.
The other part of that problem is I've never held a Mk23 before, though I've held a USP and it was already a decent sized gun.
I've been stuck deciding between getting the reasonable USP Tactical and going full retard with the Mark 23, giving up whatever practicality the USP may have in favor of cool points.

DRAGONOV
>>34389323
Hrm well if it helps, I've owned both, but eventually got the MK23 and sold the usp.
Gripwise, the MK23 is only slightly girthier than the USP, probably darn near similar really. I honestly can't really tell a major difference between the two. The magazine release is in the same place an functions the same way so that's good. granted, I have fairly large hands so this may be biased.
The biggest differences I'd say would be the following:
-Trigger and Trigger guard - The MK23 trigger is pretty damn sex. A stock USP, possibly even the tactical model (I'd have to double check) trigger is not all that good, and one of the first upgrades a lot of folks recommend is a match or adjustable trigger kit. The Trigger guard on the MK23 is also significantly larger and the trigger sits further out (assumes you're using gloves).
-Top heavy - This will be the first thing you'll notice right away is that due to the larger and longer slide, the MK23 will definitely be more weighty up top with a slight nose heavy lean. The slide and spring are just beefier all around, plus that 6" barrel will be fairly noticeable.
Decocker/Safety - In the usp, this is all integrated into one lever which makes it very easy to engage. The MK23 had their original concept of having a stupidly flat "silent decocker" lever which is kinda cool from a "tacticool" perspective. You can silently drop the hammer while the USP can only hard drop it through the decocker. I definitely prefer the USP to the MK23 here.
-Accessories - Finally probably the biggest negative about the MK23 is the lack and expense of parts. Mags are balls expensive, if you want a light that's not an original LAM, you need to pay for a $130 "rail adapter" in order to mount anything else to it (you can see it here) >>34382751
and I haven't been able to find alternative sights for it (would like some tritium alternatives)
Hope this helps!
