What are your thoughts on support arms on weapons, like on the m56 in Aliens?
It's a neat concept, but mostly unwieldy. I like the idea of sten grips and what not, as mall ninja as I know it is. I find that there's a lot of positive support going backwards from a horizontal handle because it's using the arms natural position to exert force.
On the M56 in Aliens, however, it's not the same. The weapon would be better if shortened and not given to a short-stacked lesbian with an attitude. Jin-Roh does the same exact thing but the weapon is issued to elite (male) soldiers who can use it to maximum effect instead of giving it to a rag-tag group of misfits or standard infantry who can't wield it and its massive firepower worth shit.

I guess the M56 is pretty short though. Maybe it's just the chainsaw grip that gets me. If they kept the original stock I think it would have been a much more effective weapon.

It's a great Sci-Fi idea. As implemented in Aliens it wouldn't work well because it was a steadicam mount and would resist movement too much.

Smartgun was pretty good at taking out drones and runners in AVP2. Whiners complained about tracking, but they're just mad cuz dey bad
Good luck using that behind cover...

Good luck getting a girlfriend or boyfriend.

>implying I need a girlfriend
The risk of alimony and rape accusations is not worth the overrated "companionship" they provide, waifus actually soothe your heart and are 100% pure

>girlfriend or waifus
>not getting a pure and wholesome non-roasty wife who loves you
shiggy, boys

If it were so easy, we'd all have gfs by now, besides I'm too paranoid and have trust issues to fully trust someone not to cuck me.

Seems pretty useless unless you support the legs too. Machine guns are bad enough for your knees as is.

It is that easy. Hit the gym.

How are you going to go prone or dive into cover if you've got a huge gun attached to your waist?
The only way this would make sense is if we saw power armor give rise to a revived "heavy infantry" doctrine where you had soldiers whose armor offered more protection than the terrain around them.
